Billy Connolly’s wife Pamela Stephenson has shared a promise he hasn’t kept. The comedian’s spouse, whom he wed back in 1989, called him out over a Christmas agreement he made.
The psychologist, 74, cheekily branded him a “b*****d” for not adhering to what he said about where they could spend the festive period. The 81-year-old’s awkward moment came during an unearthed interview with The Guardian from earlier this year.
Conducted by the Big Yin’s other half, she asked him, aside from the Florida Keys where they live now, if you had to settle in one place that you’d visited, where would it be? He was quick to confirm Australia, however Pamela was seemingly not pleased by this answer.
“You b*****d,” she replied, to which he remarked: “What?” She revealed: “You even promised me one hot Christmas (Australia) and one cold Christmas (Scotland), but it never happened.
“So now you’re saying you would have lived there?” As he confirmed that was correct, she quipped: “Let’s move to Byron Bay.”
Pamela was born in New Zealand but moved to Australia with her scientist parents four years later.
After living in New York, she and Billy relocated to Florida where the weather isn’t quite so extreme.

He was diagnosed with early-stage prostate cancer in September 2013, and his announcement also stated that he was being treated for the initial symptoms of Parkinson’s disease.
During the candid chat, Billy shared why he thinks Australia’s such a “great place”.
He said: “It looks good. It’s clean and bright and healthy. And the people seem happy and delighted to be there and they don’t waste any time telling you that.”
“Plus, Australia produces the best wives,” Pamela quipped.
Laughing, Billy went on: “Of course it does. It does a fine line in wives.”
She added: “Was that why you married me? Because I’m Australian?”
