Britney Spears has been accused of abusing hard drugs by her ex-husband Kevin Federline in an online tabloid. Kevin claimed that the entire family is concerned for her health. The pop star has since responded with a message on Instagram, calling the allegations heart-breaking.
Talking about Britney’s alleged addiction, Kevin said, “I fear she’s on meth. I’ve been praying someone would make it public and that she wakes up. It’s terrifying. She is the mother of my boys.” Kevin also claimed that he had set up help to “save Britney from herself.” “I don’t want the [kids] to wake up one morning and find their mother has taken an overdose,” he commented. Britney’s attorney has demanded appropriate action against the tabloid in question for defamatory publication.
Britney’s sons have also cut her off because of her alleged “erratic” behavior over the past few years. Her kids claimed to have witnessed someone close to Britney bring her what looked like drugs. Sources claim that one of her sons, Jayden, was woken up by his mother in the middle of the night, holding a knife. However, there were no comments from him on this.
Britney Spears Is Heartbroken Over The Allegations
After the allegations, the “Princess of Pop” took to Instagram to express her sorrow and shock over the comments. In a post, she wrote, “The fact that people are claiming things that are not true is so sad … This may not even be them saying such things because it doesn’t make any sense to me for them to be saying that.”

She also admitted that she tried to make things better for her family, but it didn’t work out the way she expected. “Jayden played the piano and we made music together … But the day I told him I wanted to see you guys more, I never saw you again. It makes me sad because I tried so hard to make things nice for you and it was never good enough,” she further wrote.
In the post, Britney also wrote how she felt like she was getting bullied, and questioned people’s expectations of her taking the high road. “I’ve always felt like the news bullies me … It’s sad because everyone sits back as if that’s ok to make up lies to that extent … Why am I told I have to sit back and rise above ??? When they all go so low ???,” she concluded.
Britney Deactivated Her Instagram Amid The Controversy
Britney Spears deactivated her Instagram account on 8th June 2023, just ahead of first-year wedding anniversary with Sam Asghari. The singer claimed that she won’t be making any romantic tributes to the Iranian-American model on social media on their special day.
However, days after this, Britney reactivated her account. The first post after getting back on the platform was a reply to the comments her ex-husband had made. It seems that she had to take the step to defend herself and address the allegations.
