Cat Deeley has revealed that she sometimes “spirals” and loses sleep worrying about the future happiness of her sons, Milo, 10, and James, eight. Speaking to The Sun, the presenter, who announced her separation from Patrick Kielty last year, said she worries about her children more now than when they were younger. “I just want them to be happy, and I tend to worry a little bit too much,” she said. “Sometimes when I can’t sleep at night, I go into this kind of spiral of, ‘Will they be happy, and will they find something that they love to do?’ and ‘Will they find someone to love?’ You just want the best for them.” Deeley also praised the support around her, including her “brilliant” nanny, whom she described as her “right-hand woman”. She added that returning to the UK was one of her “good decisions” because it allowed her to stay close to family and friends, while giving her sons the chance to attend school there.
Cat, who The Sun reports is dating someone new, said she makes a conscious effort to remain positive. “Nobody goes through life without, at some stage, having a problem in one way, shape or form. That’s impossible,” she said.
When announcing their split, Deeley and Kielty said in a joint statement: “We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved.”
They added: “We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected. There will be no further comment.”

In the 15 months since their separation, Cat and Patrick have continued co-parenting their sons while both have reportedly begun meeting other people. Last month, Patrick was said to have been seen on a date with businesswoman Michelle McManus. Cat, meanwhile, was linked in July to Charlie Coleman, the head of Amazon MGM, although neither relationship has been publicly confirmed.
According to a report in The Sun, friends of Cat said she was “genuinely happy” for Patrick and Michelle. “Cat’s attitude is: ‘Good luck to them.’ At the end of the day, that’s the whole point of separating in the first place,” an unnamed source reportedly told the newspaper.
The source added: “She is genuinely happy for him and knows it’s good for them that he’s happy and positive. Cat herself is in a great place, and that’s where she wants to stay.”
