Scott Evans has revealed his feelings about his brother, Chris Evans publicly outing him. Several celebrities have troubled relationships with certain members of their families. How Chris Evans Publicly Outed His Brother Scott Evans
Although several celebrities have had drama in their relationships with some of their relatives, Chris Evans has always been proud of his younger brother, Scott Evans.
During an interview with The Advocate, A-list actor Evans spoke candidly about his younger brother. When the interviewer commented, “I read on PerezHilton.com that your younger brother Scott is gay,” The Snowpiercer actor replied, “Yes, I do have a gay brother.”
He continued, “I’m down with the gays. Mostly I’m hanging out with him and his gay buddies, who are f****** hilarious. They’re the funniest people I know.”
Evans was also asked, “Did he (your brother) come out to you?” He replied, “He was really nervous. He came out to all of us very slowly. His first year at NYU, he came out to our mother and our sister, and then he came out to me a little later.”
The Knives Out actor mentioned that he was happy for his brother. “I was driving him back to New York City for school. We spent the whole day together, got to the city, had some beers in my hotel room, got into a really great talk, and he came out. I was so glad that he did.”
Evans added, “That’s got to be a difficult transition, but I come from the most liberal household you have ever heard of.”
After the giving the Advocate interview, Evans soon realized that his brother hadn’t yet come out to the world. The Avengers star felt terrible for accidentally outing his brother, and wanted to get in touch with him as soon as possible to make sure his younger sibling was okay.
How Did Scott Evans Respond?
Some celebrities might keep quiet about their relationships with their family members, preferring to keep their family life private. Others seem more open to discussing their personal relationships.
Chris Evans has spoken about his family, including his relationship with his younger celebrity brother, Scott Evans. Without thinking about it, Chris openly discussed something with the press his brother had not.

According to The Advocate, in an interview with WeLoveSoaps.net, Scott Evans discussed how he felt when his brother, Chris Evans, publicly outed him during an interview.
“He outed me publicly. I outed me when I was 19 but he outed me publicly… it was The Advocate that the article came out where he told my story and when the article came out he got a lot of flak for it from a lot of his friends who said, ‘I can’t believe you did that!'”
Evans revealed how his brother was then horrified when he realized what he’d done. “Immediately I got a phone call from him and he left me this message freaking out: ‘Are you okay with this? Are you upset that I did that?'”
Evans reassured the Captain America: Civil War actor everything was fine. “I’m glad that he’s comfortable enough to talk about it and not be ashamed about it or anything.”
During another interview with Attitude Magazine, the Barbie actor further discussed the incident. “I remember reading that article, it was 2009 or something, and I was, like, 26 years old and I’d been out for a while. My brother called me when he saw the headline and he was just like, ‘Hey, I’m so sorry. Like, this is what – was I not supposed to?'”
However, the One Life to Live actor let his brother know it was okay. “I had been on a soap opera at that point, and I was a very out person. I made that decision.”
Are Scott And Chris Evans Close?
Not all celebrity relatives are close with each other. But it seems brothers Chris and Scott Evans have shared a strong bond for a long time. In a recent interview with Jujubee for Attitude magazine, Evans’ brother Scott talked about his “unique relationship” with his older brother, Chris.
According to People, he discussed their close friendship. “We were each other’s first friends when we were kids. Up until we were older, too.”
The Grace and Frankie actor revealed, “There was never a time when it didn’t feel like he wasn’t my best friend. And he still is. And we have a really, really, incredibly unique bond that I love.”
He also added, “I think the relationship between brothers can be very unique. It feels like a best friend as opposed to feeling that you have to love someone because they’re family.”
Scott Evans also shared his famous brother’s heartwarming reaction to learning about his part in director Greta Gerwig’s film, Barbie.
“The third call [to Chris] was like, ‘Hey guess what!’ I mean, he was, I think, more excited than anybody…he was over the moon. He couldn’t believe it.”
