Chrishell Stause Stands Firm on Her Critique of Kat McPhee’s ‘Insecurity

Chrishell Stause, known for her role in “Selling Sunset,” remains firm on her remarks regarding Katharine McPhee’s alleged political ties. Stause, 44, took to social media, expressing criticism towards McPhee’s support of Spencer Pratt, a candidate for the mayor of Los Angeles with backing from former President Donald Trump. “If you’re out there actively supporting a Trump-endorsed candidate like Pratt, I’m definitely skeptical of your advice on men, Katharine,” she stated in a post on Threads, which has since been deleted, according to reports from JustJared.

Spencer Pratt, famous for his stint on “The Hills,” is campaigning for the Los Angeles mayoral seat. His campaign recently received a boost from a fundraiser hosted by McPhee, 42, and her husband, David Foster. Pratt’s candidacy has also garnered an endorsement from Donald Trump, adding a layer of controversy to the political landscape.

The conversation took another turn when a TikTok user, Jordy Cray, commented on McPhee’s personal and professional life, describing it as “one of the mcmessiest ones out there.” This statement referred to the public scrutiny McPhee has faced over her romantic relationships and past scandals, suggesting a lack of stability and genuine confidence in her public persona.

In response to the ongoing debate, McPhee seems to remain unperturbed or unaware of the specific grievances held by Chrishell Stause. The unfolding narrative between these public figures underscores the intersection of politics, celebrity, and personal life, as each individual navigates their public image amidst the scrutiny of social media and public opinion.

Katharine McPhee Reacts After Chrishell Stause Calls Her 'Insecure' for Backing 'Problematic Men'

Katharine McPhee appears to have no idea what Chrishell Stause’s beef is. TikTok user Jordy Cray posted a video earlier this month claiming that McPhee’s career and personal life was “one of the mcmessiest ones out there,” detailing the American Idol alum’s public romances and scandals. “One day she will find her real inner confidence […]

“One day she will find her real inner confidence but it won’t come until after she is disgarded [sic] enough times by the problematic men she backs,” Stause replied in the comments section. “An insecure woman will steal your man, and give the worst advice.”

McPhee has since claimed she has “no idea” why Stause was mad at her.

“Honestly I have no idea,” McPhee replied via Instagram on Thursday under E! News’ coverage of the back-and-forth drama. “I am just as confused about this controversy as you Imao.”

As for Stause, she is often outspoken about her political beliefs — especially as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Stause publicly came out as queer in 2022 when she confirmed her relationship with now-spouse G Flip, who is nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns.

“When we first came out, we had to wade through some real backlash, but we didn’t care because we were so happy,” Stause exclusively told Us Weekly in May 2025. “Because I look the way I do, people invalidate our relationship or think it’s a phase. Or they say, ‘As soon as you break up, you’re going to go back to guys.’ That’s the one that I get constantly, that this is somehow not the same seriousness of a relationship or that I’m doing it for publicity. Guys, it’s literally been years.”

Feature Chrishell Stause and G Flip Relationship Timeline Update

Chrishell Stause’s romance with G Flip is one even the Selling Sunset star didn’t see coming. Stause started seeing G Flip after her split from Jason Oppenheim in late 2021. Their whirlwind romance was documented on season 5 of the Netflix show, but the twosome split when the Oppenheim Group boss decided he didn’t want […]

Stause and G Flip, 32, tied the knot in 2023.

“Real love can defy gender and sexuality,” G Flip told Us last year. “You can fall in love with a person and their heart and who they are. All the preconceived ideas of what that person was meant to be can go out the window, but you’ve got to allow yourself to do that.”

As for Stause, she stressed that her relationship was “limitless.”

“That’s such a beautiful place to love from because your love is standing

on so much more than categories and things that you would fill out in a dating app or get in an algorithm,” Stause said. “It’s built on who they are as a human being, regardless of all the other things, because all the other things are going to change. The best thing I wish people understood about queer relationships is how beautiful they can be.”
