Ed Sheeran admits he found out about pal Taylor Swift’s engagement to Travis Kelce on Instagram ‘like everyone else’

You’re on your own, Ed Sheeran.

Taylor Swift’s pal did not receive a heads up about the “Love Story” singer’s engagement before she shared the news online.

Before Sheeran, 34, took the stage for his SiriuxSM Small Stage Series concert in New York City on Wednesday, Andy Cohen asked, “How did you find out about the engagement?”

The “Shape of You” crooner replied, “Instagram.”

Cohen, 57, expressed his disbelief, replying, “Instagram? Like everyone else? You didn’t even get a DM in advance?”

Sheeran confirmed, “No.”

The four-time Grammy winner had the same single-word response when asked whether he has “heard Taylor’s new album,” “The Life of a Showgirl,” or received a “save the date for the wedding.”

Swift and Kelce, both 35, got engaged in August.

The couple, who have been dating since the summer of 2023, shared pictures from the athlete’s romantic garden proposal with their followers.

“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” the pair captioned the reveal, which was set to one of Swift’s songs about her partner “So High School.”

We hear the duo will tie the knot “next summer in Rhode Island” because Swift is reportedly “in a hurry to have children.”

A source previously told Page Six that the nuptials will be “private” and “casual.”

While the guest list remains unclear, Sheeran has been friends with the bride-to-be for than a decade.

The songwriters met in 2012 while collaborating on “Everything Has Changed,” going on to tour together the following year.

In April, Sheeran gushed about the experience opening for Swift’s “Red” tour from 2013 to 2014.

“We used to fly to and from the gigs together and do all sorts of [stuff],” he told “Call Her Daddy” listeners at the time. “I literally spent almost every single day with her for about six months.”

Additionally, Sheeran gave rare insight into how often he talks to Swift.

The pals see each other “probably … four times a year,” he said, noting that when they do speak, it’s a “proper sit-down, six-hour catch-up.”
