Clarkson’s Farm star Jeremy Clarkson has been hit by a list of demands by protesters on his Diddly Squat Farm. The TV presenter and journalist admitted his farm in the Cotswolds was hit with angry protesters last week, who were “shouting and waving placards”.

It now transpires that the group had a very specific list of requests for him. The protest was organised by Three Counties Hunt Saboteurs and Gloucestershire Badger Office, who claim Clarkson allowed The Heythrop Hunt onto his estate.

An image posted to their X account shows them dressed in costume with badger heads, protesting with banners, including one that read: “Jezza, hands off me badgers.” In the caption they wrote: “Campaigners demonstrate at @JeremyClarkson owned Hawkstone Brewery in response to repeated blocking of #BadgerSetts on land at @diddlysquatshop ‘Clarkson does diddly squat to protect wildlife’ stated a spokesperson from @ActionAgainstF@DiddlySquatFarm @Channel4News @CIHWatch.”

During the protest, campaigners delivered a letter outlining why they had gathered outside the star’s property. They demanded he not allow fox hunts to happen on his lands, not permit anyone to disturb badger setts, and not take part in a “badger cull”.

“We are writing this open letter to you concerning issues of wildlife persecution on land which you own. It has been noted that you gave permission to the Heythrop Hunt to hunt on your land. They have been accused on numerous occasions of hunting wild mammals in breach of the Hunting Act 2004 and were convicted of illegal hunting offences back in 2012,” they claimed.

For his part, Jeremy responded to their protests in his latest Sunday Times column. “God knows what they were complaining about,” he wrote.

“Their beavers, I think. Or was it badgers? Whatever, they used their extensive knowledge of the countryside and how it works to arrive at my brewery.

“Where they stood in the rain for a little while, shouting and waving placards before realising that the manufacture of lager doesn’t affect the beaver one way or the other, really. Or the badger.

“Should this story ever become tabloid fodder, I know exactly how it will play out. This tiny group of young ladies will receive a huge tidal wave of support because they are the underdog, and I will have my trousers taken down because I’m Farmer Palmer,” he quipped.

In February, the former Top Gear host was on the other end of the spectrum after he sent support to French farmers who staged a mass protest. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Jeremy tweeted out in French as an act of solidarity to his 7.9 million followers.

“Agriculteurs français. Je parie que personne n’a jamais dit cela auparavant, mais bonne chance, venant d’Angleterre,” he wrote

This roughly translates to: “French farmers. I bet no one has ever said this before, but good luck, coming from England.”

The protests come just weeks before Jeremy gets set to launch season three of Clarkson’s Farm on Prime Video. The show will land on the streamer next month and in good news for fans, season four has already begun filming.

Season one and two of Clarkson’s Farm are available to watch on Prime Video.
