Gypsy Rose Blanchard is remembering the final time she saw her former partner, Ken Urker, before his unexpected death at 34 earlier this month.
“It was such a simple, silly little moment, but one that now means more to me than I could ever put into words,” Blanchard, 35, told Page Six in an interview published Saturday, October 10. She said her last in-person meeting with Urker came when she surprised him with an unexpected food delivery. “I didn’t know that would be the last time I would ever see him in person.”
Urker was found dead at his home in Raceland, Louisiana, on October 1, which was also his 34th birthday. A spokesperson for the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Us that deputies “responded to a residence” after “receiving a call at 6:15 p.m.” Officials determined that Urker was “dead upon [their] arrival.”
The cause of death remains undetermined. Investigators have previously said there were no apparent signs of foul play at the scene.
Blanchard said Saturday that her final face-to-face interaction with Urker took place on September 22, when she surprised him by delivering a Burger King meal to his home.
“I pretended to be a DoorDash driver and left his food outside his door,” she told Page Six.
She also shared what she described as a copy of their text exchange from that day. In the messages, Blanchard jokingly told Urker he could leave her “a five star review” on the food delivery platform.
“Omg ur so crazy lol,” Urker replied. “Even got me a Hershey pie!”
Reflecting on the encounter, Blanchard said she felt “grateful” that one of her final memories of Urker was “something lighthearted, thoughtful, and filled with kindness.”

“Sometimes it’s the smallest moments that become the most precious memories. I will carry that one with me forever,” she said.
Following Urker’s death, Blanchard launched a petition urging lawmakers to create legislation that would “hold social media platforms accountable for how they handle online harassment reports.”
Blanchard said Urker faced an “overwhelming amount of online scrutiny and what we believed crossed the line into targeted harassment and cyberbullying” during the final days of his life. She alleged that several social media platforms responded to his reports by saying no action would be taken because there had been “no violation” of their terms of service.
“This is not about silencing criticism or taking away anyone’s freedom of speech. Public figures can and should be criticized, but public figures are still human beings, and fame should never erase someone’s humanity,” she emphasized.
Blanchard told her Instagram followers that Urker’s death had motivated her to “turn pain into purpose.”
“I cannot change what happened, but I can advocate for a better system for the next person who feels like no one is listening,” she wrote Sunday, October 3. “Fame does not erase humanity. A pattern cannot always be understood one post at a time.”
Blanchard and Urker first connected in 2017 after he contacted her while she was serving a seven-year prison sentence for the 2015 second-degree murder of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard. Gypsy’s former boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, was convicted of first-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with Dee Dee’s death.
Urker later visited Blanchard at Missouri’s Chillicothe Correctional Center, where they shared their first kiss. He proposed in October 2018, but the couple separated before they married.
The two rekindled their relationship in 2024 after Blanchard separated from—and later divorced—her ex-husband, Ryan Anderson. Blanchard and Urker welcomed their daughter, Aurora, in December 2024.
