Renowned ITV actor Jack Shepherd left a significant legacy, bequeathing his entire estate to a single beneficiary. The star of “Wycliffe” passed away in November 2025 at the age of 85 following a brief illness. According to his agents, he died “peacefully in hospital” with his wife and family by his side. His entire fortune was left to Ann, his second wife.

At the time of his passing, Shepherd’s estate was valued at £977,511, almost reaching the £1 million mark. This amount was entrusted solely to Ann, whom he married in 1975. Notably, Shepherd did not mention any of his five children—Jan, Jake, Victoria, Catherine, and Ben—in his will.

Shepherd had two children with his first wife, Judith Harland, with whom he was married from 1965 to 1971. He later had three more children with his second wife, Ann. In addition to his children, Shepherd is survived by four grandchildren.

Last year, Markham, Froggatt & Irwin, Shepherd’s agents, confirmed his death with a statement: “It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of the esteemed actor Jack Shepherd, who died yesterday at the age of 85.”

“He passed away peacefully in a hospital after a short illness, surrounded by his loving wife and family,” they added.

“Markham, Froggatt & Irwin are very proud and honoured to have been part of Jack’s illustrious career. His passing is a sad loss to us all. Jack is survived by his wife Ann Scott and children Jan, Jake, Victoria, Catherine and Ben.”

Jack had been an actor since he was a young man, appearing in various high-profile theatre productions – including at Shakespeare’s Globe and the National Theatre.

He also starred in everything from Bill Brand to The Golden Compass.
