Jason Momoa, renowned for his roles on screen, found himself facing a real-life drama as he and his family fled their residence on Oahu’s North Shore in response to a powerful storm sweeping through the region.

Taking to Instagram, the actor updated his followers about their circumstances, noting that they had vacated the North Shore area and were experiencing a power outage. Despite these challenges, Momoa expressed gratitude for their safety.

“We’re safe for now,” he reassured his audience, acknowledging the dire situation of many others. “There are a lot of people who weren’t as fortunate, so we’re sending all our love,” he added, highlighting his concern for the community.

Momoa described the North Shore as “pretty gnarly right now,” urging everyone to stay safe and find ways to support each other through this difficult time. “Hopefully everyone’s safe and getting out,” he continued, encouraging cooperative efforts to assist those in need.

Through a series of videos, Momoa has been documenting the storm’s extensive damage, showcasing the severe flooding and numerous fallen trees that have disrupted life in the area.

The actor also posted a video Saturday with his girlfriend, Adria Arjona, giving back to their community by organizing an event that gave meals to those affected by the storm.

“These past weeks have been heavy,” he wrote. “The storms, the flooding, the constant rain across Oʻahu have affected so many of our people especially those already facing hardship. Seeing families displaced, communities struggling, and our unhoused neighbors hit the hardest.”

“We spent time on the west side, just trying to show love, bring some food, and remind our community that we see you, we stand with you, and you’re not alone,” he added. “That’s what aloha is. It’s showing up for each other when it matters most.”

The “Aquaman” star, 46, was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

USA Today reported Saturday that the threat of a dam failing in northern Oahu prompted an emergency evacuation of thousands on the morning of March 20.

An alert warned that all roads out are at risk of “imminent failure.”

Governor Josh Green posted on X Saturday that they had evacuated 5,500 people as the North Shore was “bombarded” with heavy rain.

He shared that there were no casualties so far, but “a few serious injuries.”

He urged residents to not take the storm lightly, though noted that the storm was clearing from Oahu and moving on to Maui.
