What Happened When An Overzealous Fan Flirted With Jason Momoa?
Celebrities often interact with their fans to show appreciation for supporting them in their careers. Most encounters appear pleasant, some awkward; a few are humorous, and others cross the line—case in point: when an overzealous fan flirted with actor Jason Momoa.
The incident occurred at the Hamilton Armageddon Festival in New Zealand. The since-defunct expo took place in various cities across New Zealand and showcased different events about pop culture, such as film, TV, gaming, comics, wrestling, and the like. Actor Jason Momoa appeared at the 2013 expo to promote his role as Khal Drogo in the mega-popular HBO series Game of Thrones.
Among the large crowd who flocked to see Momoa, who remains immensely popular in New Zealand, was FRESH TV journalist and fan of the actor named Pani.
The segment was filmed on FRESH TV, and halfway through the interview, pandemonium ensued. That’s when the interviewer began to take questions from the press and fans. The first person to be called on was Pani, who greeted Jason Momoa warmly before she likened him to a bull and said he was incredibly handsome.
Momoa opened his mouth wide after hearing her proclamation and sat there in stunned silence for a moment. The fan and journalist added that he was incredibly hot, and Jason Momoa then rather cheekily hid his face behind his orange beanie.
The unperturbed fan then stated that he was terrific, and that’s when Momoa said rather coyly, “Okay, stop. No more.” He then jokingly asked his team to get his girlfriend, actress Lisa Bonet, on the phone to talk to the fan. The fan followed up with that she was glad his girlfriend was at home and that she only wanted to speak to him.
While the audience and Momoa laughed, there was a noticeable awkwardness in the atmosphere, which didn’t affect the enthusiastic fan. She continued praising the actor by telling him she loved his eyes and likened them to hot lava. Jason Momoa appeared startled by the comparison but continued to laugh with the audience.
He finally had to tell the fan, “You’re making me blush”. Pani then asked him two questions, one about the significance of his tattoos and the other about the local food, which was shortly followed by suggestive comments. Momoa was so flustered that he admitted forgetting the first question.
As the awkward yet fun-filled segment drew to a close, Jason Momoa sweetly blew a kiss to Pani and called her a sweetheart.
Jason Momoa is one of the few stars in Hollywood that almost everyone adores; this is why it’s hard for many fans to believe any negative press about him, such as Amber Heard’s claim that Momoa bullied her on the set of Aquaman 2.

“He is hugging me because I couldn’t stand on my own. He offered to hold me for the photo, so my wheelchair wouldn’t be in the photo. I said, ‘Thanks, but I am kind of heavy.’ He said, ‘That’s okay. I am kind of strong.’ A very special photo to me because he is so great and really is kind and thoughtful of others. So this photo is the day I realized he was a great actor and a great human being.”
Immediately, fans on social media flocked to praise Momoa for the sweet and kind gesture to a fan in need.
What Celebrity Resulted In Jason Momoa Becoming Completely Star-Struck?
Like many other celebrities, Jason Momoa has been left star-struck after meeting his idol.
In an article by The Today Show, the publication discussed Momoa’s sit-down interview with singer and daytime talk show host Kelly Clarkson.
Jason Momoa reflected on how he ran into many stars during his first Academy Awards Ceremony attendance. However, he was left entirely star-struck when he met legendary actress and singer Barbra Streisand.
Momoa told Clarkson: “I turned around, and she’s like, ‘Hello, Jason,’ and I’m freaking out. She knew my name. Babs knows my name. I couldn’t believe it. I just kept thinking of my mom. Oh, my God! If my mom were here, my mom would freak out.”
Momoa explained that his mother, Coni, was a huge Barbra Streisand fan, and he would watch her performances on TV growing up because of her.
The article provided additional details about Streisand’s and Momoa’s encounter, such as when the actor took a picture with the actress backstage at the Oscars. Later, he uploaded the photo on his Instagram page with the caption, “Mom. I met BABS. love u ma.”
