Jeremy Clarkson makes major change to Farmer's Dog pub after customers shameless demand

Jeremy Clarkson’s pub, The Farmer’s Dog, has made a significant change to its operations following a request from an audacious patron. The star of Clarkson’s Farm may just have shown his softer side with this latest move from his establishment. Over the weekend, a hopeful customer reached out to Jeremy on X, asking: “Can you open your pub for me about six hours earlier on Monday, please? I was going to visit, but didn’t realise you don’t open until 5pm.” The ex-Top Gear presenter responded: “Mondays are when our brilliant staff catch their breath.”

However, it appears that Jeremy, 64, has had a rethink since then. An update posted on the pub’s Facebook page featured a group photo of the staff and announced a new policy. The caption stated that Mondays would now be a day off for the team, reports the Daily Star.

It read: “We are giving our team Mondays to spend time recharging – we will be fully open Tuesday to Sunday in both the pub and the Grand Tour tent.”

The pub’s website has also been updated to reflect the new opening times.

While the pub will be closed on Mondays, it will welcome patrons from 11am to 11pm from Tuesday to Saturday, and from 11am to 10.30pm on Sundays.

Jeremy acquired the Asthall pub in the Cotswolds for £1million, back when it was known as The Windmill.

After refurbishing and renaming it to The Farmer’s Dog, possibly as a tribute to his Prime Video show Clarkson’s Farm and his Diddly Squat Farm venture, the pub opened last August and has enjoyed popularity ever since.

The website proclaims: “The Pub isn’t the only attraction at The Farmer’s Dog. If the pub is full, or you fancy a quicker visit, head outside to our tent and check out: Hops and Chops, The Farmer’s Puppy and Diddly Squat Farm Shop.”

Hops and Chops offers a carnivore’s delight with its butchery and bottle shop combo, showcasing British-reared meats alongside Hawkstone lager or cider.

The Farmer’s Puppy is essentially a mini-pub, catering to patrons during the bustling hours of 9.30am to 3pm from Tuesday to Thursday, and extending to 4pm on weekends.

Meanwhile, the Diddly Squat Farm Shop tempts visitors with what it calls “the best of the farm” – a posh emporium for those looking for something special.
