Kelly Osbourne is feeling a profound sense of loss as she pays tribute to her father, Ozzy Osbourne, marking the anniversary of his passing.
“A year ago today, everything changed forever,” she expressed in an emotional Instagram post on Tuesday, dedicating heartfelt words to her late father.
“Today, I find myself close to you in ways I could have never imagined. Although you’re not physically here, your presence lingers with me. In the still moments, the rustling wind, songs that stop me in my tracks, the scent of your cologne, and every instance where love triumphs over grief, I feel you around me,” she shared.
“What’s truly difficult isn’t your absence; it’s the inability to touch you, to hold your hand, or embrace you and feel that unique safety only you could provide. Life has always been challenging, yet life without you has been the most arduous journey I’ve faced,” she lamented.
She continued to pour her heart out, saying, “You are my everything—my protector, my greatest teacher, my confidant, the light of my life, and my very reason for being.”
The former “Fashion Police” star, 41, added that she fondly looks back on their “beautiful memories” together, and how through “all the madness,” he “somehow made every moment worthwhile.”
“I have never loved anyone or anything as deeply, as uniquely as I love you. And now I carry all of that love with nowhere to place it except within me, my son, and mumma. It aches every single day, but it is also the greatest privilege of my life. To have loved someone so completely,” she wrote.
Osbourne has been missing her dad a little bit more as of late. On Father’s Day, she also penned a touching tribute to her father.
“Dad, I still find myself looking for you in ordinary moments the advice I need, the joke I want to tell, the victory I wish you could see,” the TV personality wrote via Instagram at the time alongside throwback photos with the Black Sabbath frontman.
“The ache of missing you is the price of loving you, and I would pay it forever rather than have never been your child at all!” she added.
I will never stop missing you. It is an honor to spend the rest of my life loving you. Until we meet again! 💔.”
