Brittany Cartwright is striving to establish a harmonious coparenting relationship with her estranged spouse, Jax Taylor.
“We’re actively working on improving our coparenting situation,” Brittany, 37, shared exclusively with Us Weekly on Monday, March 30, while discussing the upcoming third season of Bravo’s The Valley. “It’s definitely not easy.”
She elaborated, “There are so many factors involved that make it less than ideal, but it’s better than it was two years ago, and that’s progress.”
Brittany and Jax, 46, became parents to their son Cruz in April 2021, almost three years before deciding to part ways. Brittany initiated divorce proceedings in August 2024 and currently has primary custody of 4-year-old Cruz, while Jax is granted visitation every two weeks. Their divorce is still pending finalization.
“We’re working on getting the house appraised,” Brittany told Us of their divorce timeline, noting she is hopeful to “get another date set” after the appraisal is completed. “Everything should be good to go after that.”
Brittany further explained that she plans to stay in what was once her shared house with Jax.
“That’s my house. [I] already moved Cruz around for seven months. He loves that place,” she said. “I love that house. I’ve been taking care of everything by myself for a very long time now, so I’m proud of that. And yeah, that’s my house.”
Brittany’s post-divorce chapter will be documented on The Valley season 3 after Jax’s exit. (Jax confirmed his Bravo departure in July 2025 amid his ongoing sobriety and mental health challenges.)

“I think [last season] was very dark because there was a certain someone who was there, and now he is not on season three,” Brittany teased to Us of the new episodes. “It is already a lot lighter, just because of that. I think that, obviously, there’s still gonna be drama, but there’s so much more lightness and fun and funny things that we get to do.”
In addition to Brittany, The Valley stars Kristen Doute, Luke Broderick, Jesse Lally, Michelle Saniei, Danny Booko, Nia Sanchez, Jason Caperna, Janet Caperna, Zack Wickham and Jasmine Goode. Jax and Brittany’s former Vanderpump Rules costars Lala Kent and Tom Schwartz will join the group for season 3.
“I just think it’s awesome to have Lala and Schwartz on full-time because they have a new perspective,” Brittany told Us on Monday. “They’ve been around us, but they haven’t been around the group as much all together. They see some things that they had never witnessed before, so I think that’s a pretty cool thing.”
The Valley season 3 premieres on Bravo Wednesday, April 1, at 8 p.m. ET and streams the next day on Peacock.
