Paul “PK” Kemsley recently opened up about his past friendship with Lisa Vanderpump, expressing nostalgia for their former bond during a podcast appearance at the end of last month. The discussion touched upon the rift that emerged years ago on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, involving his estranged wife, Dorit Kemsley, and the broader cast.

The tension originated when Lisa, now 65, had a disagreement with the cast, including 49-year-old Dorit, over the rehoming of a dog adopted from Vanderpump Dogs during the show’s ninth season. PK, now 58, reflected on the incident, calling the drama “so unnecessary” and hinted at a possible upcoming reunion with Lisa.
“That’s LVP, her puppy, and me,” PK remarked on the April 28 episode of We Need to Talk. “I miss her. I think the fallout was so unnecessary, and I know she feels the same. I believe I’m going to see her fairly soon,” he added, suggesting a thaw in their strained relationship.
The controversy during season nine erupted when Dorit adopted a puppy named Lucy Lucy Apple Juice from Lisa’s West Hollywood rescue center. However, the situation soured when Dorit decided to give the dog away, and it was later discovered in a kill shelter. Allegations arose that Lisa had leaked the story to the press as a form of retribution against Dorit, igniting a feud that still resonates today.

During RHOBH season nine, Dorit adopted a puppy, Lucy Lucy Apple Juice, from Lisa’s rescue center in West Hollywood, California, but she eventually gave it away because it didn’t work out. From there, it was revealed that the dog had been found in a kill shelter, and Lisa was accused of selling the story to the press in an effort to get back at Dorit.
Although Lisa denied that she had leaked the story, the majority of the cast didn’t believe her, and she ultimately opted out of that season’s reunion and decided to quit the show entirely.
While it is unclear if PK and Lisa have solid plans to reconcile their friendship, she seemed to confirm she was open to it last year when she appeared on Bravo’s Hot Mic podcast.
“There will always be room in my heart for PK; he was my friend. Not a great friend, not a very close friend, but we were in the same circle in Europe. So, yeah. I would definitely like to have a conversation with him,” she shared. “I think he’s a great guy. So, yeah, I would enjoy reconnecting with him at some point.”
As for whether she’d kept in touch with Dorit, Lisa added, “Not so much. I knew her more because of [PK].”
