A Florida woman was taken into custody after allegedly using social media to lure a man to her Miami apartment with the intention of robbing him, authorities report.
Nicole Cano, aged 30, is facing charges of false imprisonment and strong-arm robbery. According to an arrest affidavit referenced by Local 10, the incident occurred on April 11 at her upscale Biscayne Bay condominium around 8 p.m.
Cano is accused of extending an invitation to the man via Instagram, suggesting they meet for drinks, but the situation quickly escalated.

Jail records from Miami-Dade indicate Cano was arrested on Monday, facing the aforementioned charges.
According to police reports, while the victim was on the balcony, two additional women appeared from a bedroom and joined Cano in confronting him.
The trio demanded money, but the man told them he didn’t have any cash, according to the report.
When he tried to leave, a struggle broke out and the women told him he was “going to pay,” authorities said.

During the scuffle, the victim’s gold chain was yanked from his neck. He managed to keep the chain, but a $300 gold cross pendant was taken before he broke free, fled the apartment and screamed for help, the affidavit states.
He later called police.

She pleaded not guilty Tuesday and was assigned a public defender, court records show.
