Hiring a nanny can be quite risky in the world of Hollywood. On multiple instances, we’ve seen nannies take celebrities to court over a failed partnership. That took place with Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey, during their broken relationship with the family nanny. According to their nanny, she was overworked, and hardly took any breaks.
The same took place with Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, as their nanny was also working countless hours, claiming she had no social life because of the couple and their demands.
Victoria and David Beckham had troubles of their own for different reasons, after their nanny was leaking info to the press.
We can add Sharon Stone to that list, as the actress ran into nanny troubles of her own. In the following, we’ll take a look at the lawsuit and why Stone decided to launch a lawsuit of her own against the nanny a year later.
Sharon Stone Has Been Involved In Multiple Lawsuits In The Past
Sharon Stone has been involved in multiple lawsuits throughout her lifetime. The most recent, was an odd one in 2019 against rapper, Chanel West Coast. Stone took exception to Chanel West Coast’s song, ‘Sharon Stoned’.
According to the actress and her legal team, the song was used without any type of consent.
Stone’s legal statement reads, “The video incorporates the infringing song in its entirety, with defendant repeating Sharon Stone’s name dozens of times throughout,” the lawsuit states. “The video is also purposely designed and shot to evoke Sharon Stone’s name, likeness, image, identity, and persona associated with her iconic movie roles.”
Chanel West Coast’s team kept the matter quiet, though the rapper was taken aback by the lawsuit, claiming that Stone had no problems with the song during its inception, and even proposed to be in the video clip.
The matter was resolved a year later outside of court.
Stone would face other lawsuits in the past, including a battle with the Basic Instinct creators, following the reveal that the sequel was not in play, something that Stone had intended to be in.

In this instance, Sharon Stone was the one taken to court, this time by her former nanny. Erlinda Elemen filed a lawsuit based on the grounds of Stone violating labor laws, and poor treatment.
According to the lawsuit details, Sharon Stone grew angry over the nanny’s overtime pay, which she apparently wasn’t aware of. After she was told to fork the money back over and the nanny wasn’t willing to do so, she was let go.
CNN writes, “Elemen claims she was fired because she refused to give back overtime pay that Stone told her she did not deserve.”
“Stone told her it was only in January 2011 that she learned from her accountant that she was paying her overtime when she worked holidays or traveled to care for her three children, the suit said.”
Elemen would also claim she was ridiculed constantly and bullied over her heritage by Stone. In addition, a statement would also claim that she was told not to talk to the children because of her accent.
“She was told not to speak to the children because Stone did not want her children to ‘talk like you,’” the suit said.
A year after the lawsuit was filed, Sharon Stone decided to launch a lawsuit of her own, this time, bringing up an unpaid loan deal with her former nanny.
A year later, it seemed as though the situation was far from being over. In 2013, Stone launched a lawsuit of her own, claiming she was owed money for funds that were loaned.
Sharon Stone claims she loaned her nanny $12,500, with a promise of getting it back. However, along the way, the actress alleges the payments stopped.
E News details the lawsuit, “Sharon helped her pay off a debt she had incurred in a failed business venture. Elemen kept up with the $500-per-month installment payments they agreed upon for six months, and then stopped paying, according to the countersuit Stone filed April 4.”
A settlement was made for both claims in the summer of 2013. However, both sides would not disclose the verdict, keeping the matter private.
