Actress and singer Kelly Yu, 36, left fans in shock when she collapsed on stage during a music festival in Guizhou. Disturbing footage from the event captured the moment the star appeared unsteady after performing her popular track, “Original Sin.” As her band looked on in confusion, Yu crouched with her back to the audience, prompting a crew member to rush on stage to assist her. Just as he reached her, Yu fainted into his arms, and he gently laid her down before hurrying to seek additional help.

Upon realizing the gravity of the situation, her bandmates quickly set aside their instruments and rushed to her side. The stage lights dimmed, casting the stage into darkness as more crew members arrived, using umbrellas to shield Yu from view and offer her some privacy in front of the concerned crowd.

Eyewitnesses reported that Yu exhibited signs of fatigue during her February 1 performance at the festival, sparking concerns among the audience.

Yu, known for her role alongside Halle Berry and Patrick Wilson in the 2022 sci-fi disaster film “Moonfall,” was immediately taken to the hospital for urgent medical evaluation. Although she remains under observation, reports indicate that fatigue was the primary factor behind her collapse, and she is anticipated to make a full recovery.

In a statement, Yu’s team explained that she had performed in Shenzhen the day before the festival and had traveled directly to Guizhou. They attributed her onstage fainting to a combination of drastic temperature changes and insufficient rest.

A spokesperson added that she “is not in any immediate danger and is still under observation in hospital”.

She began her career in music at 17 with the release of her self-made album, Evil Child.

Kelly then found fame as an actress in the 2017 Chinese romcom The Ex-File 3: The Return of the Exes. In total, she has 14 films to her credit as well as numerous TV shows.

She also appeared in season three of the reality show Sisters Who Make Waves, winning the show.

She has recorded six studio albums in her career, with her most recent, Scorpio, released in 2024.
