Earlier this year, Taylor found herself embroiled in controversy when it was revealed that she was under investigation for two alleged domestic assault incidents involving her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen. The situation prompted a pause in filming for “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” as the cast felt uneasy about continuing amidst the active investigations.

The situation took a turn when a video emerged showing Taylor throwing stools at Dakota in 2023. This incident led to ABC’s decision to cancel her season of “The Bachelorette.” The video also raised additional concerns when it was reported that one of the stools accidentally struck her child. At the time of the incident, Dakota was arrested and charged with assault, and Taylor has been on probation ever since. Many fans worried that the ongoing investigations might result in a probation violation for her.

However, as reported by TMZ, on April 14, prosecutors confirmed that they would not be pursuing any criminal charges against Taylor, bringing some closure to the ongoing legal saga.

According to TMZ, prosecutors declared on April 14 that they would not be filing criminal charges against Taylor.

Leading up to the announcement, Taylor was being investigated by two separate police departments, though the District Attorney’s Office of Salt Lake County said there wasn’t enough evidence to file charges. They indicated that proving she committed crimes beyond a reasonable doubt would be difficult.

The prosecutors also shared that they won’t be pursuing probation violations.

After the news broke, Taylor shared her reaction on Instagram.

“[I] cried when I got the call,” wrote Taylor over a picture of a butterfly and flowers. “THANK YOU to those that have stood with me.”

Taylor’s castmate Jessi wrote a message of a support on Instagram: “So freaking proud of my resilient, strong and beautiful friend [Taylor] – ily more than words.”

Last month, a Disney Entertainment spokesperson released a statement to TMZ: “In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of ‘The Bachelorette’ at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family.”

As of now, it’s still unclear if Taylor’s season of The Bachelorette will ever air.
