Teddi Mellencamp recently revealed her surgical scars and reached out for hair advice as she navigates her ongoing cancer journey.
On Thursday, April 30, the former star of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, aged 44, posted an image on Instagram showing the scars on the back of her head.
In the same post, Mellencamp shared a video seeking suggestions from her followers on how to style her hair as it gradually regrows post-surgery.
“What’s next? My hair’s too long for wigs,” Mellencamp expressed in the video, running her hands through her hair. “I’m over wearing wigs, but what should I do now? I need some advice.”
Teddi Mellencamp continues to keep her followers updated on her recovery following brain tumor surgery. The 43-year-old former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star shared a recent visit to the doctor on her Instagram Story on Wednesday, February 26. “Got my staples out today,” she noted in a monochrome video of herself at the clinic.
In the post’s caption, Mellencamp again requested assistance, jokingly comparing her hairstyle to that of her 11-year-old son, Cruz. (Mellencamp also shares daughters Slate, 13, and Dove, 6, with her estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave. She is also the stepmother of Arroyave’s eldest daughter, Isabella, 17. Mellencamp and Arroyave announced their split in November 2024.)
“It’s not lost on me how much my hair has grown since the brain surgeries,” Mellencamp wrote in the caption. “However, I currently have the same hairstyle as Cruz and I don’t have nearly enough ‘rizz’ for that.”
She added, “So what exactly is the answer to hair at this stage? Any help is appreciated ❤️.”
Mellencamp first shared the news of her brain tumor discovery via an Instagram post in February 2025. She revealed that she had been suffering from “severe and debilitating headaches” for weeks, and one day earlier, “the pain was unbearable and required hospitalization.”
Following a CT scan and an MRI, Mellencamp explained that “doctors found multiple tumors on my brain, which they believe have been growing for at least six months.”
She added that two of the tumors would be “surgically removed” that day while the “remaining smaller tumors will be dealt with via radiation at a later date.”

Several weeks after the surgery, Mellencamp shared that five more tumors had been found and she would be undergoing treatment for those as well.
In January, Mellencamp spoke candidly about her ordeal and shared she had sought therapy as she navigated cancer amid other challenges in her life, such as her divorce from Arroyave.
“I think [medications and immunotherapy] take a toll on my body, and I think that I also didn’t properly process all of the things that happened when I had surgery,” Mellencamp said on her “Two T’s in a Pod” podcast. “From my divorce to all of a sudden being in emergency surgery, to not being able to see my kids when I was recovering. I think all of those things are starting to finally hit me now.”
