We all know Amazon Prime has an amazing selection of shows to chose from right now, but Hulu is definitely giving other streaming platforms a run for their money. Whether you’re looking to laugh until you pee your pants, cry, or get a rush of goosebumps all over your body, this popular network has exactly what you’re looking for and then some, complete with tons of your favorite A-list celebs.

Grab some snacks because, with so many shows to choose from on Hulu, you won’t be getting off the couch anytime soon. Here are the Best Shows on Hulu starring your favorite actors.

22 Kristen Stewart — Living for the Dead (Season 1)

Kristen Stewart claimed her name to fame with the ultra-popular Twilight series, playing leading lady Bella Swan. Since then, Stewart has proved herself to be a true A-lister, starring in films like Snow White and the Huntsman, Still Alice, Personal Shopper, and Spencer, which earned her an Academy Award nomination. She also made her directorial debut with the film, Come Swim.

While Stewart’s face not be noticeable in Hulu’s new show, Living for the Dead, her voice sure is, as she serves as the show’s narrator. Created by the same minds behind Queer Eye, Living for the Dead is a non-scripted show that follows five queer ghost hunters as they travel around the world, visiting some of the most notoriously haunted places.

21 Emma Roberts — American Horror Story (Season 12)

This young “scream queen” has starred in multiple horror series, including American Horror Story, Scream 4, and Scream Queens. Roberts has also starred in popular films like Valentine’s Day, Nancy Drew, We’re the Millers, Holidate, and many more. Roberts has also earned a handful of different awards over the course of her career, including a Young Artist Award, an MTV Movie Award, and a ShoWest Award.

If you love horror and have been following the American Horror Story series over the last decade, you’ll be excited to know the highly anticipated eleventh season (at least its first part, anyway) is finally available on Hulu. This season follows Roberts’ character as she suspects something wicked is trying to prevent her from having a healthy pregnancy. The series also stars reality star Kim Kardashian and Cara Delevingne.

Ryan Reynolds, a Canadian-American actor, has become one of the biggest-known names in Hollywood. While he started his career in the comedic genre, in films like Just Friends, National Lampoon’s Van Wilder, and sitcoms like Two Guys and a Girl, Reynolds has taken on the action world, starring as Deadpool in various X-Men films, earning him nominations for awards like a Golden Globe. Fans may also recognize the actor from Blade: Trinity, Free Guy, and The Croods.

In addition to Reynolds’ acting career, he is also a co-owner of the Welsh football club, Wrexham A.F.C., which fans can learn all about in the docu-series, Welcome to Rexham, now on Hulu. The series premiered in 2022 and earned tons of critical acclaim, including two Critics’ Choice Awards and six Primetime Emmy Award nominations. The show’s highly anticipated second season will be available on Hulu in September 2023.

19 Andrew Garfield — Under the Banner of Heaven (Season 1)

Raised in England, Andrew Garfield studied acting at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama before performing on stage in the U.K. While he appeared in a few films early on, his big break came when he landed a supporting role in The Social Network. Garfield went on to become a household name as he took on the role of Peter Parker in three different Spider-Man films. The actor has also starred in the musical drama, Tick, Tick… Boom!, earning him a Golden Globe Award.

More recently, Garfield has taken on the role of a Mormon detective in Under the Banner of Heaven. Based on a non-fiction book of the same name by Jon Krakauer, the series follows two detectives as they attempt to solve a crime that left a mother and baby dead, as it appears tied to the Mormon faith. The show also stars Wyatt Russell and doesn’t appear to have a second season in production.

18 Amanda Seyfried — The Dropout (Season 1)

While this actress started off her career as a soap opera actress, Amanda Seyfried has grown up to become a serious A-lister in Hollywood. You may recognize her from Dear John, Les Misérables, Mean Girls, and the Mama Mia films. In 2020, Seyfried received critical acclaim for her work in Mank, for which she earned an Academy Award and Golden Globe nomination. And in 2022, Time named her one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World.

While Seyfried has won many different awards for her work in the past, she really made it on the map after stunning audiences and critics alike with her performance in The Dropout. In the mini-series, she plays Elizabeth Holmes, a woman who, in real life, ran Theranos, a company that committed major fraud within the medical community. For her convincing performance, Seyfried snagged a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award, and it’s no wonder she appears on this list of A-listers not to miss in one of the Best Shows on Hulu.

17 Kerry Washington — Little Fires Everywhere (Season 1)

Kerry Washington has become a very popular television actress, earning major recognition for her role as Olivia Pope in the drama series, Scandal, on ABC, which ran for seven seasons. Washington has also starred in a slew of films, including Ray, Django Unchained, and the cult classic, Save the Last Dance. Washington also owns her own production company called Simpson Street.

The second mini-series on this list, Little Fires Everywhere, stars both Washington and Reese Witherspoon who also serve as executive producers on the show. The show takes place in the 1990s in a Cleveland suburb called Shaker Heights and follows the lives of two mothers from completely different backgrounds. While the show was well-received, since it’s a mini-series, there are no official plans for a release of a second season.

16 Jeremy Allen White — The Bear (Season 2)

Originally from Brooklyn, Jeremy Allen White started pursuing acting at a young age. And luckily for him, he scored a role as Lip Gallagher in the popular series, Shameless, right out of high school. He’s also starred in various films, including Twelve, After Everything, and The Rental.

Despite his apparent success in the entertainment world, White didn’t receive serious recognition until he starred in Hulu’s The Bear, as a chef named Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto. The show follows Carmy as he attempts to run a family sandwich shop after working in fine dining. For the role, White has earned a Golden Globe a SAG Award, and a Critics’ Choice Television Award. The show also stars Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

15 Elle Fanning — The Great (Season 3)

While she may be the younger sister of the once-child actress Dakota Fanning, Elle Fanning has certainly made a name for herself as a respected actress in Hollywood. You may recognize her from the Maleficent films (starring Angelina Jolie), Mary Shelley, We Bought a Zoo, and more. And in 2019, Fanning became the youngest Cannes juror in history at the 72nd Annual Cannes Film Festival.

Elle Fanning also stars in the hit Hulu series, The Great, as Catherine the Great, Empress of All Russia. The loosely historically-inspired series has received tons of critical acclaim, including a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Fanning’s performance. The Great is currently in its third season, which premiered in May of 2023, and also stars Nicholas Hoult, Phoebe Fox, and Charity Wakefield.

14 Selena Gomez — Only Murders in the Building (Season 3)

She may have started her career on the kids’ show, Barney & Friends, but Selena Gomez has since come a long way both as a singer and an actress. Her first real claim to fame was as a lead on Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place. While she went on to appear in various movies after that, she started a singing career in her teen years and scored a handful of hit songs.

Only Murders in the Building premiered in 2021 and stars comedy greats Martin Short and Steve Martin. The show follows three murder podcast-loving characters (played by Gomez, Short, and Martin) as they work together to solve a murder mystery in their building. The show also stars some other familiar faces, including Cara Delevingne, Zoe Colletti, and Amy Ryan. Luckily for fans, Hulu is releasing the show’s highly anticipated third season in September 2023.

13 Gina Rodriguez — Not Dead Yet (Season 1)

Originally from Chicago, Gina Rodriguez started her acting career in small bit parts on shows like Law & Order. After her breakthrough role in the film Filly Brown, Rodriguez landed a role that would make her a household name in CW’s Jane the Virgin, which ran for five seasons. In fact, Rodriguez earned her first Golden Globe Award for her performance.

In Not Dead Yet, a sitcom that originally aired on ABC, Rodriguez plays Nell Serrano, a news reporter that recently got out of a serious relationship and is trying to find her footing in the journalism industry as a freshly single gal. The show has reportedly been picked up for a second season and stars New Girl‘s Hannah Simone, Lauren Ash, and Brittany Snow.

12 Kumail Nanjiani — Welcome to Chippendales (Season 1)

Kumail Nanjiani is a Pakistani-American actor and comedian who’s made quite a name for himself over the past decade in Hollywood. Most people may recognize Nanjiani as the character Dinesh from HBO’s hit show Silicone Valley. He also went on to co-write and star in the romantic comedy, The Big Sick, which earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay. In 2018, the actor was included in Time‘s list of 100 of the Most Influential People in the World. He was also nominated for an Emmy for his work in The Twilight Zone reboot.

Welcome to Chippendales tells the story of how the famous Chippendales strip club came to be. In it, Nanjiani plays Steve Banerjee, the man who founded the club and eventually becomes involved in murder. Due to how the show ends (without revealing too many spoilers), the chance of a second season isn’t too likely. There are some other recognizable faces in the cast, including Juliette Lewis and Murray Bartlett.

11 Elisabeth Moss — The Handmaid’s Tale (Season 5)

It’s hard to think of quality, earth-shattering TV dramas without Elisabeth Moss coming to mind. The British-American actress has starred in tons of popular TV shows, like the political drama series, West Wing. But she really became a household name when she played Peggy Olson in AMC’s Mad Men. The actress has also scored roles in various films, including US, The Invisible Man, and more.

Perhaps one of Moss’s most critically acclaimed performances was in Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale. The bone-chilling series follows June Osborne as she attempts to survive as a handmaid in a dystopian version of the United States. Based on a novel of the same name, the show has gained quite a following over the years and has run for five seasons, with the upcoming sixth being its last. The show also features actors Yvonne Strahovski, Alexis Bledel, and Joseph Fiennes.

10 Kate Mara — Class of ’09 (Season 1)

Kate Mara, the sister of actress Rooney Mara, first made a name for herself in Hollywood as Zoe Barnes, a reporter, in Netflix’s House of Cards. From there, she appeared in tons of different TV shows, including 24, American Horror Story: Murder House, and Pose. She also starred in Hulu’s A Teacher, for which she earned an Independent Spirit nomination as executive producer.

In Class of ’09, Kate Mara plays the character of Poet in a class of aspiring FBI agents. The show follows the group over the course of multiple decades as they navigate the ever-changing government system in the U.S. that becomes greatly affected by artificial intelligence. The network allegedly has no plans of releasing a season two given the way the show concludes.

9 Kathryn Hahn — Tiny Beautiful Things (Season 1)

Kathryn Hahn has been making appearances in TV shows and films for many years now, with supporting roles in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Step Brothers, We’re the Millers, and Glass Onion. But she’s also scored some leading roles in more recent years in films like Bad Moms, along with ones in TV series, like Marvel’s miniseries, WandaVision.

In Tiny Beautiful Things, Hahn plays a writer who unexpectedly gains popularity with an advice column at a time when her personal life has turned upside-down. The show is based on a novel by Cheryl Strayed of the same name and premiered its first season in 2023. The show also stars Merritt Wever and Quentin Plair. Whether there will be a season two of Tiny Beautiful Things remains to be seen.

8 Dax Shepard — Parenthood (Season 6)

Viewers may recognize Dax Shepard from a number of films and TV shows, including Without a Paddle, Employee of the Month, and more. He’s also written and directed films like Hit and Run, and CHiPs. In addition to his acting career, Shepard has proven to be somewhat of a businessman as well, starting a successful company with his wife, Hello Bello, which consists of baby products. He’s also gained popularity as a podcast host for Armchair Expert, where he interviews different people in the entertainment industry.

While it’s been off the air for some time now, Parenthood remains a very binge-able family favorite. On the show, which ran for six seasons, Shepard played Crosby Braverman, the somewhat rebellious family member of the large Braverman family. The show follows the many different relationships within the family, starring respected actors like Lauren Graham, Monica Potter, and Peter Krause.

7 Mae Whitman — Up Here (Season 1)

Mae Whitman started her acting career pretty young, landing her first supporting role at just six years old in When a Man Loves a Woman. But it wasn’t until she scored a recurring role on Arrested Development that she began to make a name for herself, and she went on to star in hit shows like Parenthood and Good Girls. She’s also starred in a handful of movies, like The Perks of Being a Wallflower and The DUFF.

On Up Here, Whitman plays a different type of role than she’s played in the past, as the show is actually a musical romantic comedy. The show is actually based on a musical of the same name that originated at the La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego, co-written by the writer of the hit musical, Dear Evan Hansen, Steven Levenson. While its first season only premiered in March 2023, it was canceled before a second season could be released.

6 Olivia Colman — Great Expectations (Season 1)

Olivia Colman is a very accomplished actress hailing from England, known for both her dramatic and comedic roles in film and television. Fans may recognize her from her supporting roles in shows like Fleabag, Twenty-Twelve, and Accused. Colman has also played the coveted role of Queen Elizabeth II in Netflix’s The Crown, for which she won a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award. She also won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in The Favourite.

Colman also stars in Great Expectations, a show that follows the adventures of an orphan, Pip, as he enters high society after suddenly acquiring some wealth. On the show, Colman plays Miss Havisham, a wealthy spinster. The show also stars Shalom Brune-Franklin, Fionn Whitehead, and Hayley Squires. It’s still unclear if there will be a second season or not.

5 Kim Kardashian — The Kardashians (Season 4)

While Kim Kardashian may not be an A-list actor, she’s certainly made it to superstar status as a famous personality. Most fans know her from her long-running reality show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, which ran on E! for an incredible 20 seasons. But the reality star is also a highly successful business mogul, championing a popular makeup line, SKIMS shapewear, and more.

For Kardashian fans, The Kardashians on Hulu picks up right where Keeping Up With the Kardashians left off. The show portrays Kim Kardashian and her family through a somewhat new lens on the network, touching on the aftermath of Kardashian’s divorce, her sister Kourtney Kardashian’s marriage to Blink-182’s Travis Barker, and Khloe Kardashian’s second child. One of the most popular shows on Hulu, season 4 of The Kardashians will premiere at the end of September 2023.

4 Kerry Washington — UnPrisoned (Season 1)

Kerry Washington has become quite the Hollywood A-lister, starring in tons of very successful TV shows, like ABC’s Scandal, for which she won two Primetime Emmy nominations. She earned even more award nominations for her roles in series like Confirmation and Little Fires Everywhere. In addition to television, Washington has also starred in popular movies like Ray, the Fantastic Four films, and Django Unchained.

In UnPrisoned, Washington plays a single mom who suddenly finds her father, a recently released convict, living with her and her son. A show that’s based around a dysfunctional family relationship, Washington and Delroy Lindo give audiences plenty to laugh at. The show also stars Faly Rakotohavana as Washington’s teenage son.

3 Justin Long — Goosebumps (Season 1)

Most people have seen Justin Long in one movie or another, as he has quite the filmography under his belt. He’s been in a slew of hit comedy films, like Waiting…, He’s Just Not That Into You, Accepted, and more. Long has also served as the voice of Alvin in three Alvin and the Chipmunks movies, and was the popular face of the famous Mac commercial campaign that ran in the early ’00s.

One of Justin Long’s most recent projects is Goosebumps, the new series based on the popular books of the same name. The creepy show (which is appropriately set to be released on Friday the 13th, 2023) follows five teenagers as they attempt to capture recently released supernatural forces, learning secrets about their parents along the way.
