If ever there was a testament to the saying “where there’s a will, there’s a way,” Travis Kelce’s recent actions certainly fit the bill.
Showing his dedication, Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs’ star tight end, made a swift journey from a minicamp in Kansas City, Missouri, all the way to New York City. His mission? To support his fiancée, Taylor Swift, as she was honored with an induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Footage from the event captured Kelce seated beside Swift at the Marriott Marquis Hotel on Thursday night, clearly proud of her achievement.
The night was a family affair, with both the couple’s mothers, Andrea Swift and Donna Kelce, joining them at the table, sharing in the celebratory moment.
Kelce, 36, landed in the Big Apple for the special occasion after concluding a three-day mandatory team minicamp.
The athlete and his teammates participated in strength and conditioning activities, on-field drills and offensive vs. defensive exercises, per the Chiefs.
Kelce will return for the NFL team’s training camp for his 14th season next month.
The three-time Super Bowl winner, meanwhile, ensured he wouldn’t miss Swift, 36, make history as the youngest woman to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
The Grammy winner released her debut track “Tim McGraw” in 2006. The 20-year period and her notable music catalog made her eligible to qualify for induction.
The hitmaker’s key tracks recognized by the SHOF include “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version),” “Blank Space,” “Anti-Hero,” “Love Story” and “The Last Great American Dynasty.”
Swift was inducted alongside Alanis Morissette, Kenny Loggins and KISS musicians Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. Other inductees include Christopher “Tricky” Stewart, Walter Afanasieff, Graham Lyle and Terry Britten.
The “Lover” songstress’s big night comes after her series of appearances this week, including the “Toy Story 5” premiere in Los Angeles Tuesday.
At the star-studded event, she performed “You Got A Friend in Me” alongside Randy Newman.
Additionally, Swift’s new track, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” will be featured in the forthcoming Pixar film.
The “Cruel Summer” singer also attended Game 4 of the NBA finals at Madison Square Garden alongside Mariska Hargitay and two of the HAIM sisters Wednesday.
Swift will return to the NYC-based venue to tie the knot with Kelce on or around the July 3 weekend.
