Summer House personality West Wilson has finally opened up about his relationship with fellow cast member Amanda Batula in a revealing podcast interview.
In the candid conversation, West was clear about the timeline of his romance with Amanda, emphasizing that it did not overlap with her marriage to Kyle Cooke or his intermittent relationship with Ciara Miller.
“I’ve been better,” West admitted on the Show Me Something With Sophie and West podcast, which he co-hosts. “A lot has unfolded in a very short period, to say the least. I’m just trying to take it day by day and avoid my phone, but the internet can be quite intimidating.”
He acknowledged that Amanda has borne much of the fallout and expressed his desire for critics to direct their grievances toward him instead.
“For example, her number got leaked,” he elaborated. “I don’t know how that happened. And someone messaged her and called her a home-wrecking w*ore, which I found to be obviously inappropriate. Can’t talk like that to people. But it’s also not true.”
West also insisted he wanted to be “very clear” about the lack of overlap between other relationships and theirs.
“I know there’s a thousand different theories on the internet right now, but that is one thing that for sure did not happen,” he stated. “Everyone was single, like I said earlier. So then we realized things are maybe a little bit serious in February, and that’s when this all started, and there’s not a whole lot more to it than that.”
West was also asked if he’s sent messages to any of his castmates.
“I’ve sent some texts,” he confirmed. “Haven’t gotten responses from everybody yet, which is to be expected. And I get it.
“But that’s the hardest part I think of this whole situation is, you know, my actions have hurt people that I care about. But the reunion’s coming up and I can give those apologies face-to-face and also clear up all of the crazy s*it that’s been on the internet.”
West and Amanda officially confirmed their relationship to the world with a joint social media statement on March 31.
“We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity,” they shared at the time. “It was never our intention to purposefully hide anything. Given the complicated dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it.”

“We’ve shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what’s developed recently was the last thing that either of us expected,” they continued. “Our connection grew out of a genuine, long-standing friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care.”
Amanda and West noted that, as their “feelings evolved,” they kept quiet, because they wanted to “take time to understand exactly what [they] were feeling.”
“We also recognize that this has had an impact beyond just us and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be perceived as careless,” they added. “We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this.”
