Joao Cancelo, a Portuguese professional football player who was born on May 27, 1994, plays fullback or wing-back for Premier League club Manchester City as well as the Portugal national team. One of the top full-backs in the world, he is a creative, skilled, powerful, and adaptable player.

He joined Benfica’s reserve squad in 2012 after graduating from the club’s development academy, and he was elevated to the first team two years later. Later, he was on loan to La Liga team Valencia for the 2014–15 campaign, and Los Ches made the transfer permanent in the summer of 2015.

He spent the 2017–18 Serie A season on loan with Inter Milan, where he was named to the league’s Team of the Year. Juventus, an Italian rival team, were interested in Cancelo as a result of his achievements, and they signed him in 2018 for a reported sum of €40.4 million. He won the league and the Supercoppa Italiana in his first and only season with the Bianconeri.

He was acquired by English club Manchester City in 2019 for an alleged sum of €60 million (£55 million), which included the transfer of Danilo to Juventus.

He made his senior debut for Portugal in 2016 after previously being capped by the nations’ all-youth team levels, winning 75 caps and scoring three goals overall.
