The outstanding attackman received All-American recognition and was essentially courted by several prestigious institutions to play Lacrosse. His sister played the sport at Stony Brook, while his father played it at Delaware.

When he was only in the eighth grade, Arline committed to playing Lacrosse for the University of North Carolina, but something made him return to his original passion.

Arline, a 2020 Shoreham-Wading River High School alumna who lettered in basketball, football, and Lacrosse, was a three-sport athlete.

He was a three-time quarterback, cornerback All-State (New York), and all-county football star. Xavier was chosen for the First All-State football team in his senior year.

In addition to being a four-time all-county attackman for the Shoreham-Wading River lacrosse team, his senior year saw him win All-America, First-Team All-State, and First-Team All-Long Island accolades. He also plays football for the 2016 and 2019 Long Island Championship squads. With an 18-3 record, Arline also helped the lacrosse team win the 2019 New York State Championship.

Of the five games he played, Xavier started in 3 (Army, Tulane, and Tulsa). With 210 yards on 59 attempts, he ended as the Mids’ third-leading rusher.

He also completed 4 of 12 throws for a total of 27 yards. Arline joined Mike Roban (1974), Alton Grizzard (1987), Jim Kubiak (1991), and Keenan Reynolds as the only freshmen in program history to start as quarterback in the annual Army-Navy game (2012). 

His career-high 109 yards of rushing against the Black Knights led the Mids, and his 52-yard run from scrimmage was the team’s longest this season. He earned his second start of the season and led the Mids in rushing against Tulsa with 60 yards on 27 touches.

During his time in the Navy, Arline participated in 5 games as the starting quarterback. He participated in six lacrosse games this spring, starting four of them, and he now holds the second spot on the depth chart as a quarterback going into the autumn.

In the Star Game of Lacrosse at West Point, the Navy defeated #6 Army 12-11 overtime, thanks mainly to Xavier’s five goals and three assists. Arline has two varsity letters under her belt.

His father used to be a Lacrosse player while he was young at Delaware (1993-1995). He has a sister whose name is Jesse. She also played Lacrosse at Stony Brook.

He said: It can be difficult and stressful at times; however, my parents always tell me, “do what you need to do before you do what you want to do” “In other words, I keep my priorities straight and sacrifice to manage this lifestyle. A lot of late nights and early mornings.
