Aurore Bergé, the National Assembly spokesman for La République en Marche, was involved in an automobile accident in Essonne during the night of Tuesday and Wednesday, according to “The Parisian.”

According to the publication, the accident happened close to Villiers-le-Bâcle. The young woman lost control of her vehicle and collided into a ditch “for a reason still unknown.” 

The daily adds, “Stuck in her car, Aurore Bergé had to be extricated by the firefighters,” indicating that the elected official was taken to a hospital in Yvelines “for examinations.”

Career Details Of Bergé 

Early in 2017, Bergé became a member of La République En Marche! She explained her party flip in a column that was published in L’Obs. 

She beat the sitting Christian Democrat Jean-Frédéric Poisson in the Yvelines 10th constituency at the 2017 parliamentary election. 

Serving as a spokesperson for her parliamentary group under the succeeding group chiefs Richard Ferrand and Gilles Le Gendre, Bergé did so from 2017 to 2019.

Bergé was a contender to take Le Gendre’s seat as the group’s chair in 2020. She did not, however, prevail over Christophe Castaner, the former interior minister. 

With the position of group president delegate, Castaner, a former Socialist Party member who is connected to the left wing of the party while Bergé is connected to the right, he named her as his deputy.

Bergé presided over the Renaissance parliamentary group from 2022 to 2023.

Bergé took part in the first joint cabinet retreat of the French and German administrations, presided over by President Emmanuel Macron and Chancellor Olaf Scholz, in Hamburg in October 2023. 

When Bergé declared in October 2019 that she would support a draft law authored by Éric Ciotti of The Republicans that would forbid women from wearing the hijab when accompanying groups of students on school excursions, it caused controversy. 

Five other members of LREM, namely Coralie Dubost, Cécile Rilhac, Jean-Michel Mis, Stéphane Trompille, and Éric Bothorel, distanced themselves from Bergé. 

She defied the party line once more in February 2022, joining six other LREM lawmakers in endorsing the Republican resolution to outlaw the hijab in athletic events.
