Matteo ‘Teo’ Villacci is making waves in the design world as a contestant on the 2026 season of “Interior Design Masters.” This British graphic designer is not only showcasing his talents on the popular show but is also the co-founder of OTTO Creative Studio, a Leeds-based design firm renowned for its work on Olivia Dean’s album promotions and the branding for the Goalhanger podcast.
Teo’s journey into design has been largely self-driven. He’s honed his skills in renovation and design through hands-on experience, mastering techniques from sanding to landscaping. His career as a freelance designer and art director has blossomed into leading his own agency, where he creates album covers for renowned artists like Sam Fender, Olivia Dean, Lewis Capaldi, Sam Smith, Stormzy, and Cat Burns.

Competing in the seventh season of “Interior Design Masters” with Alan Carr, Teo is part of a spirited group of 10 contestants vying for the title of top interior designer. The show, hosted by Carr and featuring the expertise of Michelle Ogundehin, former editor of Elle Decoration, aims to uncover promising talent in the interior design world.
Teo characterizes his design aesthetic as ‘retro modern.’ In an interview with the BBC, he expressed his motivation for joining the competition: “My main aim for going on Interior Design Masters was to show other guys that interior design is something you can be interested in — it shouldn’t be judged or boxed in. Having a space where you can switch off, escape and feel comfortable is something everyone needs.”
Speaking about the interior design trend that can withstand the test of time, Teo said: “Warm wood panelling is something that will last a lifetime. The natural connection it creates with the outdoors is unmatched. And the outdoors isn’t going to disappear anytime soon.”
