On Tuesday, June 10, podcaster Mal sparked buzz online after sharing a cryptic post on X (formerly Twitter) about what is believed to be Drake’s rumored new album, Iceman. Although Drake has yet to confirm the title or release date, speculation has continued to grow over the potential project. In the tweet, Mal simply wrote:

“Iceman got a BOMB. 💰💰💰”

The post quickly gained traction, racking up more than 710,000 views and over 6,700 likes. Several major platforms, including NFR Podcast, reposted the tweet, intensifying the buzz among Drake fans.

“He said the same thing during the battle 😂” — Netizens react to Mal’s tweet

Shortly after Mal’s post, netizens flooded X with reactions, many skeptical of the hype. One user (@rushgotjokes) reminded others that Mal had made similar claims during last year’s high-profile feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar:

“He said same thing during the battle 😂.”

Others expressed doubt, with some calling the album overhyped even before its official announcement:

“We heard that b4.”
“Bomb with a lawsuit lol 😂 Foh lol 😂.”
“He also said Drake had a nuke for Kendrick,” another wrote.

Many users criticized the tendency of podcasters and streamers like Mal, Adin Ross, and DJ Akademiks for building unrealistic hype around Drake’s music. One post read:

“New lame nggaz hyping sht talking stupidity ‘a bomb’!!!!”
“Bro these ovhes close to him (Mal, Adin, AkaDiddy) just can’t let that man surprise his fans. Always hyping this ngga’s music only to drop some mid 😂.”

Drake confirms OVO Fest 2025 amid Iceman album rumors

On May 24, Drake used his alternate social media handle, @plottttwisttttt, to announce the return of OVO Fest for this year. The post, which included a video clip from Central Cee’s concert in Toronto, read:

“🦉 OVO FEST IS BACK 2025🦉.”

In the footage, Drake made a surprise appearance on stage and told the crowd:

“I’ll see you this summer by the way. OVO Fest will be back this year.”

While the rapper hinted at the festival’s return, no further details about dates, venues, or line-ups have been officially released.

Amid this announcement, excitement has been growing over Iceman, which would mark Drake’s first solo project since his lyrical clash with Kendrick Lamar in 2024. Although still unconfirmed, Iceman has become one of the most anticipated potential releases in hip-hop.

Drake first launched OVO Fest in 2010, traditionally hosting it every summer until it paused in 2020 due to the pandemic. It returned in 2022 under the rebranded title “October World Weekend,” featuring performances from stars like Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, and Lil Baby.

As fans await concrete updates on both Iceman and OVO Fest 2025, the anticipation only continues to build.
