Glynn County Police on the Hunt for Suspect in Fatal Assault of Elderly Man: Community on Alert

The Glynn County Police Department revealed on Monday that the victim in a recent assault case has succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities are reaching out to the community for assistance in locating a suspect linked to the attack on an elderly resident in Glynn County, Georgia.

According to the police report, on the evening of March 24, officers were dispatched to a residence on Abbott Avenue near Brunswick. Upon their arrival, they discovered 72-year-old Robert Yawn lying unconscious, exhibiting injuries indicative of an assault.

Yawn was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and remained in critical condition until he tragically passed away on March 30.

GCPD announced Monday, March 30, that Yawn sadly passed away. 

The department said this is now an active homicide investigation, GCPD asks any information regarding this case to be sent to them by contacting the Glynn County Police Department Non-Emergency at (912) 554-3645 or anonymously via Silent Witness at (912) 264-1333.
