Belinda Gosden, an Australian education administrator, is making waves as a contestant on the 2026 season of MasterChef Australia. Her culinary passion was ignited at the tender age of 11, during her childhood years spent in Papua New Guinea with her family.
Her journey in the kitchen began when her mother, Phillis, fell ill and was hospitalized, prompting young Belinda to take charge of family meals. Upon her mother’s recovery, they cooked together, with Phillis imparting valuable culinary wisdom that Belinda holds dear. At 19, Belinda embarked on a cooking apprenticeship, but romance led her to leave it unfinished.
Throughout her diverse career, Belinda has worn many hats. She has been an air hostess, traveling across the globe and exploring various cuisines. Her professional path also includes stints in finance, running a bed & breakfast, and most recently, serving as a university liaison officer, where she facilitated student placements to launch their careers.

Belinda’s dream is to one day open a cooking school where she would show people that making delicious food need not be overwhelming, but accessible, fun and fulfilling.
