An Ohio woman who was found dead on her front porch on Christmas was possibly killed by her neighbor’s pigs.

Police officers found Rebecca Westergaard Rigney, 75, deceased outside her Pataskala home after she did not show up for a holiday get-together. Rigney was discovered on the front steps with injuries to her legs, according to WBNS.

A responding officer reportedly spotted a large pig in the area. That and another large pig belong to a neighbor, whose pigs were quarantined amid the ongoing death investigation.

Police believe at least one of the pigs was at Rigney’s home and may have contributed to her death.

The Licking County Coroner’s Office concluded that livestock animals inflicted the injuries that caused Rigney to bleed to death. Rigney reportedly had heart issues and was taking blood thinners. Her death was deemed accidental, according to WBNS.

The coroner is expected to finish a complete report within six weeks. Pataskala police Chief Bruce Brooks told the Columbus Dispatch that the pigs’ owner has not been criminally charged, and it is unclear whether criminal charges will be filed in this case.
