A disturbing incident unfolded in Florida where a man allegedly broadcasted the aftermath of a fatal shooting on Facebook. This video led to his arrest.
Gedeonson Hyacinthe, 42, was apprehended by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, facing serious charges of second-degree murder alongside two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm. His arrest stemmed from a crime that took place on April 14, 2025. On that day, an unnamed victim was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers arrived to discover Hyacinthe standing above the lifeless body, claiming that a heated argument had spiraled out of control.
Although initially questioned by authorities after the deadly encounter, Hyacinthe somehow managed to elude custody. The Fugitive Warrants Unit successfully located and detained him peacefully on Wednesday.
According to the sheriff’s office, Hyacinthe and the victim got into an argument in an intersection in the Pine Manor community and the two men “tussled” as the altercation became physical. Hyacinthe told police that during their physical fight, the victim was shot.
After the shooting, Hyacinthe allegedly took out his phone and started livestreaming from the roadway on Facebook Live. He reportedly discussed what led up to the alleged shooting with his online audience and turned his camera on the active crime scene.
Hyacinthe was detained at the scene and brought in for questioning. The Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation. Police did not explain why he was not in custody before his arrest.
On Wednesday, Hyacinthe was back in custody. In addition to the murder and assault charges, he was also charged with two counts of drug possession. He is being held at the Lee County Jail without bond. His next court date is scheduled for Aug. 17.
