On Thursday, detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit arrested 30-year-old Tyrell Siermons of Fayetteville, North Carolina, for the death of 25-year-old Heather Williams. The Violent Criminal Apprehension Team assisted in the arrest, according to the Fayetteville Police.

As previously reported by CrimeOnline, authorities last saw Heather on January 4 in Fayetteville as she got into a light-colored, four-door sedan with a sunroof. The Fayetteville Police Department classified her as endangered due to her cognitive impairment and limited speech.

On Friday, police investigated a wooded area near Newark and State avenues, where they discovered Williams’ body, WRAL reported.

News Nation Now reported that Heather’s mother accessed her daughter’s Verizon phone records after she reported her missing. Heather’s sister, Mary Williams, called the last unknown number that appeared in the phone records; the call lasted three minutes.

“I told him who I was, that we hadn’t seen Heather. I asked him if he had picked her up or been with her recently,” Williams recounted. “He told me that he did pick her up, that he had met her on Facebook, and that he couldn’t tell me which night it was.”

Siermons, a recent prison releasee, had previously been involved in a robbery, kidnapping, and shooting incident that left the victim injured but alive.

Police have now charged Siermons with first-degree murder.
