HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. – Kyle Durant Kirby, 31, faces a charge of lewd or lascivious molestation involving a child under 16.
The case was reported to the High Springs Police Department in February after the alleged victim told a family member that Kirby had touched her in a sexual manner.
According to the arrest report, the Department of Children and Families had investigated the victim’s family twice in 2024. The report states that DCF did not refer the family for services.
Kirby also has a 2019 misdemeanor conviction for domestic battery.
Prosecutors have filed a formal charge of lewd or lascivious molestation of a juvenile between the ages of 12 and 16. Kirby is being held without bail while the judge considers a motion from the State Attorney’s Office seeking to keep him detained without bail until trial. If the motion is denied, bail will be determined at the hearing.
