GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Myron Robert Davis, aged 63, was taken into custody on allegations of inappropriate conduct involving a minor. The incident reportedly occurred while the teenage girl was at a bus stop, during which Davis allegedly propositioned her for sexual acts in exchange for money.

The incident unfolded around 7:50 a.m. on May 21, as a Gainesville Police Department officer responded to a report from the 700 block of SE 3rd Street. The 15-year-old girl recounted that while she was waiting for her bus, Davis approached her, inquiring if the bus serviced her high school. When she did not respond, Davis allegedly began touching her thigh inappropriately, proposing to pay for further contact. The girl reported freezing in shock as Davis moved his hand to her inner thigh, prompting her to push him away. She then sought assistance from a nearby bus driver.

Authorities located Davis later at a Home Depot on NW 13th Street. During questioning, following his Miranda rights, Davis claimed he believed the girl was in her twenties. He described an interaction where they were allegedly sharing a “blunt,” which he said had fallen onto the girl’s thigh, and he purportedly reached to remove it to prevent her from getting burned.

Davis, who resides at GRACE Marketplace, now faces charges of lewd or lascivious conduct by an adult. While details of his full criminal history remain undisclosed, records show he has completed 15 prison sentences across Alachua, Leon, Marion, and Taylor counties. Judge Bo Bayer has ordered him held without bail, pending a hearing on the State Attorney’s Office’s motion to keep him detained until trial. Should the motion be denied, bail arrangements will be determined at that time.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
