Rachel Danis, Patrick Clancy’s wife, has opened up about the moment she learned that his three children had died.
“I guess I had so many questions,” Rachel said during a Sept. 20 appearance on 60 Minutes. “And yet at the same time I didn’t know exactly what to ask.”
The interview marked the couple’s first public conversation since the murder trial involving Lindsay Clancy ended in a mistrial.
Rachel said she hopes to help Patrick cope with the loss of his children: 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan.
“I know I can’t fix—I can’t bring his kids back,” she said. “But if I can honor them and allow Pat to grieve, while also continuing to honor them in the present, I guess that’s all I can do.”
Patrick said Rachel has made a meaningful difference in his life. “I’m—100 percent. My life has changed since I met Rachel in such a positive way,” he said.

During the 60 Minutes interview, the couple also shared that they are starting a family and intend to preserve the memory of Patrick and Lindsay’s children.

“I think every parent can agree, you have different relationships with your kids, but they’re all your kids,” Patrick said. “And I can’t wait to tell them about their brothers and sister.”
What Happened At Lindsay Clancy’s Murder Trial?
Lindsay stood trial in connection with the deaths of her three children, who were killed on Jan. 24, 2023, at the family’s home in Duxbury, Massachusetts.
Her defense team did not dispute that she caused the children’s deaths, but argued that she was experiencing postpartum psychosis at the time.
Prosecutors, however, argued that the killings involved “deliberate premeditation and extreme atrocity and cruelty.”
A mistrial was declared Sept. 4 after jurors reached an 11-1 deadlock. Although the jury reportedly leaned toward finding Lindsay not guilty by reason of insanity, it was unable to reach a final verdict.
Lindsay is scheduled to return to court on Sept. 29.
