An Indiana woman has been arrested for a fatal crash last November that killed her sister and a 6-year-old girl.

Jourdan Hudson, 23, initially told investigators that her sister, 25-year-old Jaiden Samaria Marquis Newbolt, was driving the car on November 23, 2024, while she was in the back seat with three children between the ages of 4 and 6, all on their way to a birthday party, WANE reported.

Four days later she admitted she had been driving and that she had gotten lost while following another car to the party. Then she began arguing with Newbolt as she sped down Interstate 69.

While trying to turn around on the highway, Hudson lost control, hit a guardrail, and rolled the car over. Newbolt and two other children were thrown from the vehicle in the crash, and she and 6-year-old Nalani Ella Ervins were pronounced dead at the scene.

The child who was not thrown from the vehicle was critically injured.

The investigation ultimately revealed that Hudson’s vehicle hit 106 mph two seconds before the crash.

Hudson also admitted that none of the children were in car seats or wearing seatbelts.

She has been charged with neglect of a dependent causing death, neglect of a dependent causing serious injury, neglect of a dependent, and two counts of reckless homicide.
