Sidney Starr, widely known from the Love & Hip Hop franchise and also recognized as Sidney Favors, is currently embroiled in serious legal troubles. The reality TV personality is facing multiple felony charges related to child abuse.
The charges against Starr, who is both a transgender model and TV star, include sexual battery of a child under age 16, aggravated child molestation, and sodomy, as outlined in Georgia court records accessed by Oxygen.
Viewers may remember Starr from her appearance in season nine of Love & Hip Hop: New York. Her arrest took place on August 2, following a call to police in Hapeville, Georgia, reporting a sexual assault at an Embassy Suites hotel located in the greater Atlanta area, according to an official press statement.
After being detained, Starr admitted to engaging in the acts but insisted they were consensual, as revealed in an interview with investigators, detailed in an arrest warrant attained by Oxygen.
Currently held without bond at Fulton County Jail, Starr awaits her next court appearance set for August 25, according to the latest court records.
“Because this case involves a juvenile,” the Hapeville Police Department said in a press release sent to Oxygen, “no additional information will be released from our agency.”
Starr previously gained attention in 2012 for falsely claiming she was in a relationship with rapper Chingy after the two posed for a fan photo. The rumor sparked backlash and she later apologized for making up the story, according to TMZ.
In addition to Love & Hip Hop: New York, Starr has also made appearances on FOX’s Empire and Maury Povich’s titular talk short.
Just days before her arrest, she shared news of her latest project.

Her attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Oxygen.
