An Indiana woman is facing consequences after confronting children she suspected of bullying her stepson.
Raven Barner, 26, recently admitted guilt to two charges of battery involving minors under 14 years old, stemming from an October 2025 episode. Her partner, Donquarious Ridley, 27, was also allegedly involved. According to Law&Crime, Barner was accused of boarding a school bus on October 31, 2025, near their residence in Greenwood, Indiana, and shouting at the children.
The couple was under the impression that their young son was a victim of bullying during the bus rides.
As detailed in a probable cause affidavit reviewed by Law&Crime, police responded to reports of an altercation at the Greenwood apartment complex on the morning of October 31, 2025. Witnesses, including children, claimed to have seen Ridley and Barner enter a school bus and start yelling.
Footage from inside the bus captured the entire confrontation. Authorities reported that the video depicted Barner and Ridley boarding the bus after their son had gotten on, without the bus driver’s consent.
Barner initiated a verbal altercation with two children and told one of them that she would “beat his a—.” She then told the same boy that she would get her stepson to “beat his a—.” Barner could apparently be seen in the video “encouraging” her stepson to “start an altercation.” The bus driver eventually got between Barner and one of the children, whom she struck. She struck another child “inadvertently.”
In addition to the two battery charges, she pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of resisting law enforcement. On May 21, Barner was sentenced to one year in jail followed by one year of active probation. She was also ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation.
Ridley’s case is still pending. He was charged with two counts of battery on a person less than 14 years old and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. His next court date is scheduled for July 27.
