Nancy Grace: Missing Tennessee Mom Spotted Selling Her Cell Phone: Why?

A 33-year-old mom from Tennessee who hadn’t been seen or heard from since May 6 turned up on video at a California Walmart where she was selling her cellphone. CrimeOnline’s Nancy Grace says that’s alarming.

“What woman in her right mind would sell her cell phone?” Grace asked on Fox News, noting that was Nikki Alcaraz’s only method of communicating with family back in Cheatham County, Tennessee — including her two children.

Alcaraz and her boyfriend, 33-year-old Tyler Stratton, left Tennessee early this month to head for Orange County, California, where they planned to visit Alcaraz’s uncle. On May 4, a passing truck driver in Torrance County, New Mexico, saw the couple fighting — saw Stratton punch Alcaraz in the face — and called police, who separated the two and made no arrests after Stratton said he’d been hit too.

Alcaraz, however, had a black eye and bruising on her body — eerily similar to an encounter Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie had with police shortly before her death.

“They separate them. They go two different ways, and then they rejoined,” Grace said. “We know how that turned out with Gabby Petito. She’s dead. Brian Laundrie killed her. So if he would do that in public, what would he do in private when he gets her alone?

But where are they? A family member traveled to New Mexico, intending to finish the trip to California with Alcaraz, but on May 6, she decided to go find Stratton, and the family member left without her. That was the last she was heard from until the video from California — and Stratton wasn’t seen on the video. “Where’ s he?” asked Grace.

“This has all the earmarks of domestic violence. This is classic behavior of a domestic assault victim,” Grace said.

“This has every ingredient of a tragic ending.”
