GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Nicole Sadie Dix, 48, and Paisley Monet Jerido, 31, were arrested last night and charged with battery and aggravated battery after allegedly attacking a man and woman at Royal Park Apartments.

At about 8:37 p.m. on June 4, Gainesville Police Department officers responded to Royal Park Apartments (301 NW 39th Road), where there was a “major fight” in the parking lot.

According to the arrest report, Dix, Keana Juewel Curry, 28, and other unidentified defendants were at Jerido’s apartment, waiting for the two victims to come home. Curry allegedly started fighting with the female victim in the parking lot, and then all of the defendants allegedly joined in, punching and kicking the female victim. The male victim reportedly tried to break up the fight, and Dix allegedly punched him while continuing to fight with the female victim. The male victim said one of the unidentified defendants had her knee pressed down on the female victim, who is his girlfriend, while the other defendants continued attacking both him and the female victim.

Eventually, the female victim separated herself from the defendants and grabbed her gun from her vehicle, holding it at her side and not pointing it at anybody; when she did this, the defendants dispersed. The male victim said Curry, his child’s mother, had been waiting for him to come home with the female victim so she could fight the female victim, and the minute they got there, Curry and the other defendants attacked the female victim. The officer reported that the female victim corroborated the male victim’s story, but she had head injuries from the fight and mainly remembered that people had attacked her.

The female victim reportedly had a heavily bruised eye, three obvious knots on her forehead, two scratches on her face, and a cut knee. The male victim reportedly had part of a dreadlock ripped from his head.

Witnesses told an officer that they saw Jerido and her husband at the fight and that the female victim was attacked by multiple people in a major fight in the parking lot.

The officer reported that a doorbell camera showed Dix and the other defendants leaving Jerido’s apartment, walking toward the parking lot, and then returning to the apartment. Jerido was wearing a black shirt and shorts in the video.

The officer spoke with Jerido and her husband, who reportedly said they didn’t know anything about the fight. Post Miranda, Jerido reportedly stated again that she didn’t know anything about the fight and was not involved. When the officer said he had video footage of all of the defendants leaving her apartment, Jerido reportedly said she was at home, working and sleeping, and didn’t know anything about the incident.

After the officer placed Jerido in handcuffs and in the patrol vehicle, Jerido reportedly admitted that the other defendants had been in her apartment and said Curry had fought with the female victim, but she just tried to stop the male victim from intervening because he’s a man. The officer reported that Jerido was wearing a robe and told him she was naked underneath, but she actually had on a black shirt and shorts, matching the clothing seen on the doorbell video.

The officer also spoke with Dix, who came back to the scene and asked about Jerido; he reported that she was also seen on the doorbell video and was identified by the victims as one of their attackers. Post Miranda, Dix reportedly said she went to Jerido’s apartment to drop off a baby, and when the female victim pulled into the parking lot, they all went outside. She said she saw people fighting and just tried to keep the male victim from joining in. She denied attacking either of the victims.

The victims reportedly identified all of the defendants on the doorbell camera video.

Dix and Jerido were arrested for battery and aggravated battery.

Dix has no criminal convictions. Judge Jonathan Ramsey found no probable cause for the aggravated battery charge and set bail at $5,000 on the battery charge.

Jerido has two misdemeanor convictions (one violent). Judge Jonathan Ramsey found no probable cause for the aggravated battery charge and set bail at $5,000 on the battery charge.

Curry was charged with at least one felony via sworn complaint, but those charges are not currently available in the court system.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
