According to the responding University of Florida Police Department (UFPD) officer, at about 2 p.m. on October 4, during a game-day event in the back yard of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity, Gold allegedly threw an 11.5-pound broken metal basketball rim over an eight-foot privacy fence into the back yard of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity, which was also holding a game-day event.
The rim reportedly hit the victim in the head, causing a laceration that required seven staples.
