GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Kimberly Marie Henry, 43, was arrested yesterday after allegedly throwing a knife at her boyfriend behind his workplace, spitting on him, and breaking his phone.
At about 6:51 p.m., a Gainesville Police Department officer responded to Steak ‘n Shake (3714 SW 42nd Street), where the victim said that while he was at work, Henry arrived and tried to take his dog; he said he got his dog back, but Henry chased him around the back parking lot, yelling at him. He said Henry produced a red pocket knife and threw it at him, and then she called him a racial epithet and spit on him.
The officer reported that there was a red knife on the ground in the parking lot and dried saliva on the victim’s shoulder.
The victim said he put his phone down to wipe the spit off, and Henry grabbed his phone and threw it, breaking the screen.
A witness reportedly told the officer that Henry chased the victim behind the restaurant and threw something at the victim before spitting on him.
The officer reported that before acknowledging her Miranda rights, Henry said she carried the knife for protection and admitted spitting on the victim because that’s what happens when she talks.
Henry, whose address is listed as St. Francis House, has been charged with domestic aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, domestic battery, and property damage. She has four misdemeanor convictions (non-violent) and is facing a sworn complaint for trespassing after a warning at the Butler Plaza Walmart. Judge George Wright set bail at $70,000.
