The 2023 romantic comedy Anyone But You stars Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney as two failed lovers who bump into each other at a destination wedding and decide to pretend to date, in order to make their exes jealous. Sounds like a solid plan! Nothing could possibly go wrong, right?

Over the movie’s 103-minute runtime, the couple get into various antics, involving plenty of alcohol, accidental nudity, and sexy times. Alexandra Shipp, Dermot Mulroney, Darren Barnet, and Rachel Griffiths also star.

Anyone But You is a classic rom-com meets raunchy sex comedy as the fake couple flirt their way into harboring feelings for each other, beyond their sexual attraction.

In addition to the movie’s sexy content, Sweeney and Powell played up their undeniable chemistry while doing press. This, of course, sparked cheating rumors which bummed Powell out.

Now, All of Us Strangers actors Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott are giving the Anyone But You couple a run for their money with their nonstop flirting while advertising their new drama. And Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain, and Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey, did similar runs with their respective recent works. It’s never been a better time to be an on-screen hottie!

Looking for more movies featuring on-screen couples with crazy chemistry? Continue reading for seven movies that will remind you of Powell and Sweeney’s electric dynamic.

  1. Zoey Deutch and Glen Powell (Set It Up)

Glen Powell is very good at playing the douchey romantic interest. In the 2018 Netflix original Set It Up, Powell stars as a venture capitalist’s overworked assistant Charlie Young, who meets another stressed assistant while running a late-night errand. The two decide to set up their bosses for a romantic relationship. As time passes, things get heated among both parties. The assistants bond over pizza on the fire escape and late-night scheming, while their bosses advance their connection in a questionably speedy manner. This movie will leave the corporate girlies and the overworked zillenials drooling! So. Cute.

  2. Julia Roberts and Richard Gere (Pretty Woman)

It’s a classic! Julia Roberts and Richard Gere‘s characters couldn’t keep their eyes — or hands — off of each other in the 1990 romantic-comedy Pretty Woman. The movie follows a Hollywood escort as she is hired to accompany a wealthy businessman for several occasions over a week. What starts off as a business transition turns into so much more… Their relationship is a slow burn, but it’s worth every second.

  3. Ali Wong and Randall Park (Always Be My Maybe)

Everybody knows that the chase is the best part. Always Be My Maybe features Randall Park and Ali Wong as childhood friends who grew apart after their high school fling. When the two are back in the same town as adults, they rekindle their romantic chemistry despite their many differences. Set to the backdrop of fame, soft rock music, and repressed teenhood memories, every moment the couple spends together is dripping in chemistry as they transition from trying to make each other jealous to getting extra handsy. Hubba hubba! For Park and Wong, it was easy to channel their on-screen relationship as they were the ones who spearheaded the project as cowriters. “I could not imagine doing this movie with someone I hated. It’s so much work and interaction. Working with Ali was just so fun, from beginning to end, and even now in this press phase,” Park told Glamour in an interview.

  4. Joel Kim Booster and Conrad Ricamora (Fire Island)

Fire Island is an easy watch about a bunch of hot gay guys being hot gay guys. So, obviously it deserves a place on this list. Conrad Ricamora and Joel Kim Booster play two strangers who meet on vacation and end up spending a few days together. Sexy nightclub dancing, recreational drugs, and speedos, this movie is a wickedly fun time. While the cast didn’t spark any cheating rumors, they flitted across the red carpet like superstars, which is equally as entertaining. 5. George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez (Out of Sight)

Venturing out of the romantic comedy territory, Out of Sight features hotties George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez as a successful bank robber and federal marshal who strike a mutual attraction with one another. While the two were quick to get up close and personal with one another on the red carpet, it turns out that their chemistry might not have been the same behind the scenes. An insider told Bigger Stars, “Jennifer and George couldn’t stand each other during filming, “This was her first starring role and she’s a hard worker and didn’t appreciate his goofball behavior.” On the flip side, Clooney thought of the pop star turned actor as a “diva.” Well, they certainly had us fooled!

  6. Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey (How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days)

There’s no way you’ve made it this far in life without seeing How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. The 2003 movie follows an advertising executive as he claims that he can make any woman fall in love with him, and a magazine writer doing research for an article about being dumped. Yeah, sure…. those both sound like normal quirks. The two meet at a bar and begin to date, with neither one of them being aware of the other’s intentions. This whirlwind romance is filled with a boatload of chemistry and kissing scenes, even though actors Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey have insisted that stayed “professional” behind the scenes.

  7. Issa Rae and Lakeith Stanfield (The Photograph)

Issa Rae and LaKeith Stanfield will take your breath away in the stunning romantic-comedy The Photograph, which follows the budding relationship between a journalist and the estranged daughter of a famous photographer. Over time, the two fall in love while the reporter investigates the other’s mother. The movie has tons of drama, heartbreak, and some solid humor, but what’ll entertain you the most is the new couple’s easy romance. Rae, herself, has praised their chemistry, telling Variety in a 2020 interview, “LaKeith is just easy to fall in love with.”
