Anthony Edwards is asking the court to place part of his child support payments for Alexandria Desroches in a trust, citing concerns that the money could be used for online sports betting.
Court documents obtained by TMZ show that the Minnesota Timberwolves guard wants a trustee to oversee some of the monthly $14,000 support he provides for their son, Amir.

Edwards claimed in his filing that Desroches testified she used DraftKings dozens of times a month in 2025 while maintaining that his support payments did not cover their child’s needs. He further alleged that she inflated Amir’s expenses and did not report earnings from a second job, including cash tips.
Desroches confirmed that she had used DraftKings but rejected Edwards’ portrayal of her betting habits. She said the wagers were generally around $10 and made “out of boredom.” In her response, she said she has since closed off her use of the account, with records showing $998.20 in net DraftKings activity during 2025.
Desroches also questioned why Edwards should have oversight of the support funds, pointing to what she described as his lack of involvement in Amir’s life. She told the court that Edwards has never met their son face to face and has not requested parenting time.

The dispute follows an August court order requiring Edwards to pay $14,000 per month in child support. Desroches had sought an increase from the earlier baseline obligation of approximately $3,200.
At the time, court records placed Edwards’ monthly income at nearly $4.8 million, while Desroches’ income was listed at slightly more than $1,000. She said she planned to complete college and strengthen her financial ability to care for their son.
The NBA star was additionally ordered to pay more than $21,000 in Desroches’ legal expenses and secure a life insurance policy valued at about $2.6 million. Desroches was designated as the policy’s primary beneficiary.
Amir, born in October 2023, is Edwards’ only son. The basketball player also has daughters Aris with Daja Carlyle, Aislynn with Shannon Jackson, and Aubri’ with Ayesha Howard.
The court has not yet issued a decision on Edwards’ request to establish the trust.
