Are Ariana Biermann and Hudson McLeroy Rekindling Their Romance in ‘Next Gen NYC’?

Ariana Biermann and Hudson McLeroy, both having journeyed through a lengthy relationship, are now navigating their sophomore seasons of Next Gen NYC as single individuals, albeit still figuring out their new paths.

Their romance, which blossomed in high school, saw Biermann, the daughter of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak, and McLeroy, the heir to the well-known Zaxby’s fast-food empire, building a significant life together. In July 2024, they made a bold move to New York City, setting the stage for their first season on Next Gen NYC.

Season 2 opened with the surprising news of their breakup. Biermann chose to separate from McLeroy and establish her independence by relocating to her own apartment in Brooklyn. Although some, like castmates Georgia McCann and Ava Dash, speculated that this split might be a storyline ploy, it quickly became apparent that their parting was genuine and irreversible.

Curious about the reasons behind their breakup and whether reconciliation is on the horizon? Keep reading for the full scoop!

Why did Ariana Biermann and Hudson McLeroy break up?

In a heartfelt announcement made in October 2025, Ariana Biermann shared the end of her relationship with Hudson McLeroy. “Hudson and I have decided to go our separate ways. While these things are never easy, we both know it’s what’s best for us right now. We are so grateful for all the love and support you’ve shown us over the years. Sometimes life takes you in different directions and that’s OK. Love you all,” she expressed, according to BravoTV.

McLeroy later posted his own statement, which read, “I still and always will love Ariana. She’s been there for me at times when I couldn’t be there for myself. I still have a lot of things I need to heal from and deal with on my own to become the person I truly want to be. I appreciate all of the love and support everyone is showing us through this difficult time.”

In the Next Gen NYC Season 2 premiere, we learn the real reason why Biermann ended her relationship with McLeroy. The former couple, who dated on and off for nearly a decade, hit some bumps in the road after they moved to New York City in the summer of 2024. Biermann felt that McLeroy wasn’t trying in their relationship, explaining that she asked him to talk her on more dates to no avail. Hudson, for his part, admitted he wasn’t “emotionally growing” and that his lack of “drive” became “unattractive” to Biermann.
