FORT COLLINS, Colo. (WCIA) — Lincoln basketball enthusiasts won’t be shocked by Kloe Froebe’s impressive performance over her first two seasons in collegiate hoops.
As the recipient of the 2024 Illinois Miss Basketball and Gatorade Player of the Year awards, she propelled the Railsplitters to an unblemished 38-0 season, culminating in a Class 3A state title during her senior year. Froebe delivered stellar averages of 28.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.2 steals, and 4.8 assists per game.
In her freshman year, Froebe consistently contributed to the team, averaging 8.6 points across 32 games. As a sophomore, she increased her scoring to 10.7 points per game and led the Rams by securing an average of 6.8 rebounds each outing.
As she approaches her junior year, Froebe stands out as the team’s leading scorer returning to the court, intent on refining every aspect of her play, with a renewed emphasis on vocal leadership.
“I feel that playing during my freshman year really helped me grasp the game better and enabled me to start taking on a leadership role,” Froebe remarked. “This year, I anticipate stepping into a more significant leadership position for my teammates, especially given the influx of transfers and freshmen. I’m excited about the opportunity to guide them.”
Froebe and CSU look to build off the program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2016.
