From the very beginning, the relationship between Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor seemed destined for turmoil.
The former stars of Vanderpump Rules have been thrust into the spotlight, especially with the recent news surrounding Jax’s new romantic involvement with Lori Krebs. Krebs, who is not only a publicist but also worked for both Jax and his estranged wife, has become a central figure in this unfolding drama. After Jax and Brittany ended their relationship in February 2024, learning about his new affair with Krebs felt like a stab to Brittany. In a candid conversation with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, Brittany expressed that while she’s not bothered by Jax’s decisions, she does feel a deep sense of betrayal from Krebs, someone she once regarded as a friend.
This latest development in the volatile saga of Brittany and Jax, who have yet to finalize their divorce, reinforces the notion that separation is best for them both. Given their astrological signs, it’s hardly surprising that their journey unfolded as it did.
Jax and Brittany had a classic Water and Air collision
Brittany, an Aquarius, and Jax, a Cancer, present the classic clash of Air and Water signs. Their disparate perspectives and approaches to life and love almost predictably led to ongoing conflicts, as their inherent characteristics did little to harmonize under shared circumstances.

As Vanderpump Rules viewers know, conflict emerged early on in Brittany and Jax’s relationship. But they refused to break things off. Instead, they said “I do” in June 2019 and welcomed a son, Cruz, in April 2021.
That commitment to a dysfunctional relationship might be due to Brittany’s fixed sign nature, which made her exceptionally loyal and persistent in trying to hold her marriage together. Meanwhile, Jax’s cardinal Cancer energy naturally pushed to control the dynamic in their home, leading to a power struggle. Eventually, things reached a breaking point. As Jax’s substance abuse problems and anger issues worsened, Brittany filed for divorce in August 2024. She’s since admitted that her “picker’s off” but that she’s working on being more discerning about the men she gets involved with.
“I’ve been talking with a narcissistic abuse coach,” Brittany said in part 1 of The Valley Season 3 reunion, which aired in early August. “I feel like that’s really gonna help me. But I see the best in everybody, and what sucks is, like, I don’t really wanna change that about myself. But I have to set bigger boundaries.”
