Blue Ivy Carter took home the coveted YoungStars Award at the 2025 BET Awards on June 9 in Los Angeles.

With this win, the daughter of Beyonce and Jay-Z is now a three-time NAACP Image Award winner, two-time Soul Train Award winner, and three-time BET, VMA, and Grammy Award winner.

People said “what did Blue Ivy do to deserve this” but she did A LOT! She was in the Lion King animated movie and she was on two back to back global STADIUM tours as a lead dancer basically!

While some critics online questioned her win and labeled her a “nepo baby”,  many fans were quick to defend her.

One social media user pointed out, “People said ‘what did Blue Ivy do to deserve this,’ but she did A LOT! She was in the Lion King animated movie and she was on two back-to-back global STADIUM tours as a lead dancer basically! That’s enough for a kid star to get an award like this.”

And it’s true—Blue Ivy has had a standout few years.

In the past year alone, she made her voice acting debut in Mufasa: The Lion King and has been a lead dancer alongside her mom, Beyoncé, on the “Cowboy Carter” tour.

Though often in the spotlight because of her famous parents, Blue Ivy’s recent accomplishments show she’s carving her own path.

From performing in sold-out stadiums to earning industry awards and participating in major creative projects, her impact goes beyond just her family name. At only 13 years old, Blue Ivy has achieved what many artists twice her age strive for.

The YoungStars Award recognizes young individuals making an impact in music, film, TV, and sports.

Other nominees in the category included Akira Akbar, Graceyn “Gracie” Hollingsworth, Heiress Harris, Melody Hurd, Thaddeus J. Mixson, Tyrik Johnson, and VanVan.
