David Campbell sets the record straight on the viral moment Kourtney Kardashian ‘snubbed’ him

Although David Campbell’s viral awkward interview with Kourtney Kardashian happened seven years ago, the Channel 9 presenter hasn’t been able to escape it. 

Since first airing on Today Extra in 2016, it has gone viral multiple times on social media. 

Now, the presenter is re-living the awkward encounter once again, but on a much larger scale. 

The toe-curling incident was included in the recent episode of Kourtney and her family’s Hulu reality show The Kardashians. 

In the infamous 2016 interview, Kourtney appeared to brutally snub the presenter when he asked her a question about her sister Kim’s horrific robbery in France.

The reality star awkwardly looked into the distance for seven long seconds, with many viewers believing that she didn’t want to answer the question. 

However, it appears that David has found the humour in it, as he brought it up on Wednesday’s Today Extra. 

‘That has kind of gone viral for the past seven years, people have done impressions of it and tagged me in things and it’s all very fun,’ he said.

‘But can you imagine my surprise when season three of The Kardashians is dropping, and even Kourtney herself can’t escape this,’ he added, before showing viewers the moment it was brought up on The Kardashians episode. 

However, it appears that David has found the humour in it, as he brought it up on Wednesday’s Today Extra

In the episode, Kourtney is seen getting her hair and makeup done, before one of her entourage brings up the Aussie interview moment, saying it was ‘iconic’.   

The reality star then explained that she has ‘anxiety’ about doing press interviews.  

However, while many believed that she was brutally snubbing David, he claims that’s not actually what happened.

Speaking on Today Extra on Wednesday he explained: ‘I want to highlight this fact, because it probably won’t be aired on The Kardashians. 

‘But, what happened is a PR walked in, it was after the Paris robbery so we had to ask and then the famous blanking happened.

‘So, we went to an ad break because we lost her but in the ad break she absolutely bollocked her PR person and after the ad break she answered the question, she was an absolute trooper. 

‘And it always made me feel better about The Kardashians as a whole, she was awesome.’
